The crew recaps the A’s two big wins against the Astros:

    • Game 1: A 5–1 victory behind Jeffery Springs, who tossed five innings of three-hit, one-run baseball to improve to 11–11 with a 4.11 ERA. RBIs came from Cortes, Hernaiz, Soderstrom, and Jacob Wilson.

    • NL races: Phillies, Brewers, Dodgers, and Padres have clinched spots, with multiple teams still battling for the final Wild Card positions.

Finally, Tyler, Luke, and Devin share their predictions for how the postseason brackets will shake out and wrap the show with their Favorite A’s Memory segment.

  • Will the A's Make the Playoffs Next Year?
    Sep 21 2025

Episode 27 of BLEAV in A’s covers a busy week of baseball news and the final stretch of the 2025 MLB season.

The crew reviews the A’s latest action at Fenway Park:

    • Game 1: A’s defeated the Red Sox 2–1 behind Jeffery Springs’ four solid innings and a strong relief appearance from Mitch Spence. Tyler Soderstrom delivered a pinch-hit RBI and Brett Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

    • Game 2: Boston walked off in the 10th inning for a 5–4 win. Darrell Hernaiz drove in three runs and Lawrence Butler added an RBI, but the A’s left six men on base.

With the A’s record now at 72–81 and officially eliminated from postseason contention, Tyler, Luke, and Devin shift the focus to the league-wide playoff race. They analyze the standings across both leagues:

    • AL West: Astros lead with the Mariners just 0.5 games back and Rangers 5 games out.

    • AL East: Blue Jays on top, Yankees 4 games back, Red Sox 6 back.

    • AL Central: Tigers lead with Guardians 4.5 back.

    • NL divisions and both Wild Card races, including the Cubs, Padres, Mets, Diamondbacks, Reds, and Giants battling for the final spots.

Finally, the hosts debate whether the A’s young core, led by Nick Kurtz, Shea Langeliers, Luis Morales, and Jacob Wilson, can develop quickly enough to make a serious run at the playoffs next year. They preview the upcoming final nine games and wrap up the show with their weekly Favorite A’s Memory segment.

  • Kurtz and Langeliers Reach 30 Homers as A’s Walk Off vs Red Sox
    Sep 12 2025

Recorded at the KUBU Radio studio, Episode 26 of BLEAV in A’s dives into a thrilling week of A’s baseball. Tyler, Luke, and Devin recap the team’s recent series against the Red Sox, which featured a dramatic 5–4 walk-off win at Sutter Health Park. Lawrence Butler delivered the game-winning single off Aroldis Chapman, snapping Chapman’s run of 50 consecutive batters retired without a hit or run allowed since July 23.

The show highlights the historic night for two of the A’s brightest young stars:

    • Shea Langeliers launched his 30th home run of the season, joining Terry Steinbach as the only catchers in A’s history with 30 homers in a single season while catching at least half the games.

    • Nick Kurtz followed with his own 30th homer, becoming only the third A’s rookie ever to reach that mark, alongside the legendary Bash Brothers Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco. Kurtz reached 30 homers in just 102 Major League games, ranking seventh fastest among active players to reach the milestone.

The crew also reviews the A’s overall record (67–80), the first two losses to the Red Sox earlier in the series, and looks ahead to upcoming games as the team continues to build around its emerging young core. They close the show with their signature “Favorite A’s Memory” segment.

    A’s Record: 67–80 | 12.5 GB AL West | 11.5 GB Wild Card
