  • #186: Aligning Your Podcast Goals with Impact
    Dec 9 2025

Podcasting has become a noisy place. There are now A LOT of voices sharing what makes or breaks a podcast creator's success. But the truth is - only YOU can make that call. Your success markers will look very differently than another's, which means your goals sets will best serve you if they are created based on your unique version of success in the stage you're in. Yes - there are always best-practices - but what measures success is usually a little deeper than a download.

Creating and achieving small, purposeful goals—rather than rigid benchmarks set by others—can transform your mindset, boost your confidence, and help you build a podcast (and life) you truly love. You’ll learn the powerful difference between outside expectations and goal-setting rooted in your “why,” discover actionable steps to start your own podcast adventure, and get inspired to celebrate every bit of progress along your path. If you’re ready to give yourself permission to succeed and show up as your boldest self, this episode is your guide.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • The power of crafting goals that align with your authentic self and unique creative vision
    • How to distinguish between external expectations and purposeful, self-driven goals
    • The brain science behind positive self-talk and giving yourself permission to be successful

  • #183: The Secret To Starting Over
    Nov 18 2025

Whether you’re in the midst of a major life transition or considering a fresh start - I want to remind you that the messy middle that comes along with this kind of shift, requires a lot of self-kindness.

One great way to begin to invite in more kindness with yourself is to be curious. To allow for questions like "what if" to exist and begin to lead the way.

I talk about taking bold action in this episode - but I want to think of this as "curious & creative action". What answers are coming up when you ask yourself "what if?" Then what is one small action you can take to follow that curiosity that feels fun and creative?

I share with you the time in my life where I was discovering this for the first time and how my "what if" turned into the discovery of new interests and the exploration of developing characters and a story for these characters to come to life within.

I got curious and then I took action by getting creative in ways that were new to me.

That led to new possibilities that would have not presented themselves if I wasn't already on this path of permission. I truly believe that possibility follows permission.

Before I knew it - my life was evolving and a new chapter was emerging.

What comes up when you ask "what if"?

Then what is a bold action or in other words a "new curious and creative action" that you might take to explore your "what if"?

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • How being curious, letting go and taking small creative action can lead you towards fulfillment
    • The power of "what if"
    • How permission and curiosity are an act of self-kindness
    • How you have the power to change your life
    • Why it's never too late to start over

  • #181: Could Your Passion Project Be Your Key To Success? with Jeff Large | Founder, Come Alive Creative
    Nov 4 2025

Where in your life can you give yourself more permission and space to have fun? To be creative, to have a passion project just for you? Or to express something you love with the world?

Today, I am joined by Jeff Large, founder of Come Alive Creative, a branded podcast production agency, much like mine. We explore how Jeff discovered the importance of connecting with nature—not just for his own well-being, but as a catalyst for creativity and personal growth.

Jeff shares about his journey launching his passion project "Outdoor Sounds," a unique podcast featuring immersive nature recordings, born from his love of nature and exploring the wild paired with his other passion - audio capture. After seemingly doing everything "right" to grow his business as a founder, Jeff found himself feeling more disconnected from the part of the business that was fulfilling - the creativity!

We explore the possibility of burnout presenting as a lack of fulfillment and how a creative and passionate project can restore our internal balance, well-being and lead to more successes both in business and personally.

Whether you’re navigating your own entrepreneurial path, searching for ways to feel more fulfillment, or simply intrigued by the intersection of well-being, nature, and creativity and it's influence on our success -this episode is your invitation to tune in, and reconnect with what lights you up.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Why pursuing a passion can refresh your sense of purpose and lead to more fulfilling success in business (and life)
    • How your core values get to lead the way
    • How being in nature and practicing observation can translate to becoming a better listener and improve your interpersonal relationships
    • How to grant yourself permission to rest, play, and follow what truly lights you up

    Oct 28 2025

What if healing from overwhelm, overthinking or burnout...could be as simple as spending time with Nature?

In this enlivening episode, I sit down with Penni Cox, from South Africa, who is a psychologist, TEDx speaker, and founder of Alive Eco-Journeys. Penni shares her inspiring story of personal and professional transformation—moving from years of international humanitarian work and mental health counseling, through a challenging period of burnout in New York, to a profound healing journey rooted in nature.

Together, w explore how reconnecting with the natural world can spark creativity, accelerate healing, and help restore both physical and mental well-being. You’ll hear why Penni believes nature is the “better therapist,” how simple acts like being barefoot on the earth or nurturing a houseplant can foster a sense of belonging, and what science reveals about the restorative power of the outdoors.

We are diving into the core reasons to start a podcast!

Drawing from my years of experience in the podcast industry (over a decade!), running a full service podcast production agency, freelance producing, teaching classes, speaking at industry events, and judging podcast competitions -

I've had the amazing privilege to maintain an insider look at how podcasts come together and what inspires them into existence.

Whether it's healing through shared struggles, igniting passion around a beloved topic, amplifying lived experiences, or channeling expertise into meaningful conversations - podcasters have been changing how we have conversations and how we connect and feel seen and heard.

If you’ve ever wondered whether podcasting is for you, or worried about following the rules in how to create one... then I'm here to help you see how that first spark is what ignites a big flame.

You’ll discover why all it takes is a personal reason—your “why”—to begin. Get ready to feel inspired by real examples from one of the competitions I recently judged that prove podcasting is as much about building community as it is about personal growth.

Join me as we uncover the 5 common themes that motivate people to start their own shows, and learn how podcasting could be the next step on your own journey toward self-discovery and purpose.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Five authentic reasons people start podcasts—and how they can inspire your own creative journey
