À propos de cet audio

This podcast explores the biblical story as a scriptural teaching meant to instruct its hearers in the will and commandments of God. Join me as we observe the story, explore some of the original Greek and Hebrew words, and discuss how those words function across the body of Scripture. Listeners will be encouraged toward a practical application of the text that emphasizes both hearing and doing according to the teaching.© 2024 Mary Noël Christianisme Pastorale et évangélisme Spiritualité

John is the fourth gospel in the canon of the New Testament and is often considered to be the one gospel that is the most unlike the other three, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. While this is an accurate statement, it is also a limiting one because all four gospels ultimately have their differences and their similarities. All four are meant to be heard on their own, and all four are also meant to be heard in the context of the larger biblical canon. This is a reminder that whatever observations we make of scripture will never be enough. There will always be more to say. Each gospel begins its unique story in its own way, but ultimately all four gospels remind us of what we are meant to have heard before. Join me as we begin our discussion of the Gospel of John.

In John 6:35, we hear that familiar verse, “And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.’” Since bread is the focus of this podcast, I want to make sure that we all understand what this means scripturally. Join me as I discuss what is meant by the “Scriptural bread”.
