How does one mourn a beloved pet?

I know for me, the turning point on my grief was when I could honestly look at all a pet gave me, rather than what I lost. But to this day, I still tear up at the loss of my animals. And I suspect I'm not alone.

Jean Alfieri is a grief coach specializing pet loss. Grief, she explains, is not a linear process; rather, it evolves over time, much like a circle that grows and shrinks in relation to our lives.

In this podcast, Jean shares her journey of adopting senior dogs and the lessons learned through their inevitable passing. Her new book, "21 Ways to Weather the Loss of Your Pet," serves as a guide for those navigating the painful process of grieving.

How do we honor our pets? Process our grief? Share it?

Listen in to explore how these deep bonds can be kept alive, and let go, to help us find joy and healing in the midst of sorrow.

A.J. Richards is on a mission. He has created From the Farm, a platform aimed at decentralizing the food supply chain and empowering family farms.

From the Farm is not just a business; it’s a movement. It connects consumers directly with farmers and ranchers, eliminating unnecessary middlemen. This approach not only supports local agriculture but also provides consumers with the opportunity to know exactly where their food is coming from. A.J. emphasizes the importance of transparency and trust in the food industry, stating, “We want to cut out all the middlemen that are completely unnecessary.”

AJ touches on the cost of raising clean meat and produce, versus the factory produced food we currently consume. He also emphasizes the importance of humane treatment of animals at slaughter. Stress hormones from the animals flows into the meat you consume! Instead he advocates for field harvesting, which minimizes stress for the animals and ultimately leads to better quality meat. This commitment to ethical practices is a core value of From the Farm, as they strive to support producers who prioritize animal welfare.

How can we transform our current industrial system to a healthier one? First is education. Understand the food supply chain so you can make informed choices. Then, gradual adoption. Start by sourcing just one item from a local producer. As your knowledge and awareness grows, you will move into ever healthier choices,

Clean food is a passion of mine and I hope this podcast resonates with you and makes you stop and think. How could you be making healthier choices?

Ethan Pompeo faced debilitating neurological symptoms at a young age. At just 13, he began experiencing motor tics, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and severe anxiety. By the time he was 17, he was on over 40 different medications.

Ethan felt lost in a system that seemed more focused on prescribing medications than finding the root cause of his issues. He decided to take charge of his own health.

Through extensive research, Ethan discovered PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcus), a condition that linked his neurological symptoms to a strep throat infection. Finally, he had an accurate diagnosis.

Part of Ethan's health plan was CBD, which he found to be a powerful anti-inflammatory. His experience led him to create Green Valley Nutrition, a company dedicated to providing high-quality CBD products for those seeking natural remedies for pain, anxiety, and sleep issues.

Ethan's story is about taking charge of your health and your life. It's about being open minded, curious and willing to step well outside the comfort zone of modern medicine to seek the healing that rings true for you.

Marcel Vogeli was living what many would consider a dream life. In his twenties, he was traveling the globe, filling his calendar with excitement and adventure. Inner peace wasn't really on his agenda.

An unexpected and serious car accident and the subsequent diagnosis of an aggressive autoimmune disease changed everything. So did Christiane Beerlandt's book, "The Key to Self Liberation."

This book was the catalyst for Marcel's transformation teaching him that illness could be a clarion call to reconnecting with oneself. The book led him first to heal and later to meet and work with Christiane. The bottom line to her research and books is that conforming to society inevitable stifles our authenticity and can even play a role in illness. True healing is more than physical. It's practical and spiritual and can be found in embracing our individual and unique journeys. Marcel's story speaks to this the fact that beauty that can emerge from adversity, and embracing the journey of self-discovery can lead to joy.

Join us as we delve deeper into Marcel's inspiring journey, exploring themes of healing, authenticity, and the transformative power of self-liberation. Tune in to discover how you can start your own journey towards a more authentic life, filled with purpose and joy.

Steve Melman is a psychotherapist who turned his childhood struggles into a narrative of self empowerment. Initially diagnosed as learning disabled, he took the statement as a challenge.

Steve reframes setbacks as “bumps in the road” rather than failures, Reframing a challenging narrative as a temporary state of affairs and even as a challenge, he talks about moving ahead in spite of harsh words and other setbacks. He likens life to a long road trip, where the journey is as significant as the destination, reminding people that life is not just about achievements but also about the experiences we gather along the way.

Steve’s insights remind us that while life may present obstacles, it also offers countless opportunities for growth and fulfillment. It's all a matter of words, and you get to choose your own story.
