📖 Proverbs 23:15 — “My son, if your heart is wise, my heart will indeed rejoice.”

Even a small wise choice can bring big joy to the people who love you most. In today’s Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin reminds us that when you follow God’s way—even when it’s hard—it doesn’t just help you grow… it makes others proud and thankful, too.

👉 “Start a youth out on his way; even when he grows old he will not depart from it.”

This verse isn’t just for parents—it’s about you. It’s about how the things you're learning now—faith, kindness, prayer, self-control—are laying the foundation for your whole life.

When you're learning God’s way as a kid, it sticks. It doesn’t disappear. It becomes something you carry with you into every new season.

• That their habits and heart are being shaped right now

• How Jesus grew in wisdom—even as a kid

• Why building a strong foundation now will help them stand strong later

• That you don’t have to wait until you're older to follow Jesus and live with purpose

Imagine building a skateboard ramp. If the base is weak, it collapses. But if you build it right—it lasts.

Your faith is like that ramp. What you build now can hold you up for the rest of your life.

1. Take what you’re learning about God seriously—even if you don’t understand it all yet

2. Ask questions and talk with parents or teachers about faith

3. Don’t wait to grow in wisdom—start now by living out what you’re learning

Today’s wisdom from Proverbs reminds us of something BIG: You might think you're right… but God sees your heart. 💡

👉 "All a person’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs hearts."

Sometimes we do the right thing for the wrong reasons. Sometimes we say, “I didn’t do anything wrong!” but deep down… we know we didn’t do what was right either. God doesn’t just look at what you do—He looks at why you do it.

This verse reminds us that our actions matter—but our motives matter even more.

He might say, “I know your heart. Let’s talk about what’s really going on.” Not to shame you—but to help you grow.

Whether you're trying to impress others, avoid trouble, or just feel justified in an argument—Jesus wants to meet you in that moment and help you choose what’s truly right.

• 🫶 Ask God for a heart check. Don’t just ask if your actions are “okay.” Ask if your heart is in the right place.

• ❓ Ask: “Does this line up with what God says is right?” Not just what feels right—but what’s right in God’s eyes.

• 💡 Be honest with yourself and others. Taking feedback, apologizing, and choosing humility are signs of a wise heart.

“Even a young man is known by his actions—by whether his behavior is pure and upright.”

Solomon wants you to know: You don’t have to wait until you’re older to start doing what’s right. The way you act right now—at home, at practice, in your neighborhood—is shaping your reputation.

Even Jesus, at 12 years old, was known for how He acted. He was respectful, kind, obedient, and full of truth—not just in what He said, but how He lived.

• Why your behavior matters every day, not just at school

• That your life tells a story—even in the smallest decisions

• How real character is built in the little moments

• Why actions speak louder than words (yes, even on the weekend!)

1. Ask yourself: What do my actions say about me today?

2. Choose the right thing even if it’s hard or no one sees it.

3. Remember: You’re building your reputation with every choice—so let it reflect who you are in Christ.

Talk together as a family: "If someone only watched what we do, not what we say—what would they believe about who we are?"

💡 What does this mean? Solomon reminds us that wisdom is built—not born. You don’t just wake up wise. You grow into it—and it starts with being teachable and willing to listen.

Even Jesus, as a young boy, grew in wisdom by listening to His parents and learning in the temple. If Jesus listened and learned, we should too!

✅ In this episode, kids will learn:

• Why wisdom starts with listening

• How to handle correction—even when it’s hard

• Why your response to feedback shapes your future

• That asking for advice isn’t weakness—it’s the beginning of growth

📖 Proverbs 18:10 (CSB) 👉 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected.”

💡 What does that mean? In Bible times, cities had strong towers for safety. When trouble came, people didn’t stand out in the open—they ran to the tower. This verse says God is our safe place—a place we can run to when we’re:

• Scared

• Stressed

• Lonely

• Overwhelmed

✅ In this episode, kids will learn:

• That God isn’t just with them at church—He’s with them everywhere

• How to run to God in their mind and heart—through prayer, trust, and pause moments

• That Jesus is the strongest and safest place we can go when life feels out of control

🏫 Real-life example: You're losing in a game. Everything's falling apart. What do you do? You call a timeout and run to your coach. 👉 That’s what running to God looks like. You don’t have to push through alone. You can pause and pray right where you are.

📘 Application for Today:

1. Start your day with a quick prayer like: “God, I’m running to You today.”

2. When you feel stressed, pause and talk to God—not just your friends or your phone.

3. Trust that God’s name—who He is—is stronger than anything you’re facing.

💡 What does that mean? Solomon isn’t saying confidence is bad. Confidence is great! But pride—the “I’m better than everyone” attitude—is dangerous. Why? Because it:

• Shuts out correction

• Damages friendships

• Blocks growth

• Makes you believe your own hype... until you fall

✅ In this episode, kids will learn:

• The difference between confidence and arrogance

• Why pride leads to failure, but humility leads to wisdom and growth

• How Jesus stayed humble, even though He had every reason to boast

• Why teachable hearts go further than show-offs

🏀 Real-life example: You finally land a trick in front of a crowd and everyone cheers. You get full of pride and try an even bigger one—without warming up. 💥 You wipe out. That’s what pride does—it pushes too far, ignores wisdom, and sets you up for a fall.

1. Check your heart when you succeed—and give God the credit.

2. Stay teachable when corrected—don’t argue, just learn and grow.

3. Be honest about your struggles—humility opens the door for help and strength.
