À propos de cet audio

South African multi-instrumentalist Adam Stanley interviews major names from the 90s and 00s South African music scene and beyond. Caught in Time is just that - a time capsule of great music and incredible people from a totally unique rock scene in what was one of the less likely places on Earth! In these conversations, Adam tries to bottle a little bit of what made that time so special.

  • David Beretta Owens (Lithium/N8ive/Gimp/PitVirus)
    Nov 12 2025
Dave Owens was/is the frontman for Lithium from Cape Town, a band who's reunited more than once but who I never got to see very often - despite their being one of my biggest early musical influences. He went on to form incredibly diverse projects including acoustic rockers N8ive, the nu-metal inspired Gimp, and most recently, the metallic PitVirus (alongside members of Vulvodynia). Lithium holds a special place in my heart, so this interview was an absolute joy to do! Thank you Dave.

I'm going to be at Splashy Fen 2025 - my first time in 18 years! I'll be playing drums with Leigh Goddard & Roly Struckmeyer on the Saturday at midday on the Acoustic Stage - and I might even debut some of my new material too! Come and say hi if you're going to be there!
