À propos de cet audio

On September 30th, Canada marked the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—a day to look back at the legacy of residential schools, the 150,000 Indigenous children who attended, and the abuse they suffered under the state-run project. It's also a day to take stock of what Canadians make of that history and what they believe should or shouldn't be done in the present to respond. Harrison Lowman speaks to Aaron Pete, Chief of Chawathil First Nation in B.C. and host of the Nuanced Podcast about why he thinks the right and left risk making reconciliation performative and brittle if the country doesn't double down on both accuracy and civility.

This episode originally aired on September 30th, 2025.
