As we close out the year with a rainy day in Tucson, I'm sharing a "best of" episode from the vaults. I plan on returning in the new year with all new episodes and new guests, but for now, enjoy time with your families, cherish a few quiet moments and welcome in new possibilities for the future.

Joaquin was cool enough to be a guest on the show when it was a fledgling little thing I was trying the get up and running. Over four years since his episode aired, the listeners have quietly pushed it into a nice place of prominence, he is the fifth time most popular!!!!

Find out why, tune in and turn it up. He's quite the cowboy, a westside cop, who fell into this profession and made the most of it. Thanks again for all the love and support, I look forward to 2026 here on the show.

I recently learned that Andy passed away. His wife said there will be a service after the holidays, but I thought it would be appropriate to honor his memory by playing his episode.

I'm honored to have had him on the show, and to provide this permanent legacy to his friends and family. Hold each other a bit closer this season, put aside petty differences and enjoy the time you have together.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone...

One thing I must say about Brian and every guest who has graced me with their time over the years is...

I've never once had to ask them to drop any pretense and be their authentic selves and that is what seems to catch my listener's interest and draw them in. When people just "be who they are" and tell the stories that impacted them both personally and professionally. I appreciate Brian for having the courage to join me, even when he told me he wasn't sure he could.

Across the span of about 30 years he served both on a national level, in the US Navy, and then at home with the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Heart pounding chases, engulfed family homes, and a mix of all the calls and situations he handled while trying to keep the community safe and the bad guys behind bars.

He told me that he wanted to neatly capture his career in three episodes (1. Patrol, 2. K9, and 3. Sergeanthood) and I'm totally good with that. Here's episode one, about his patrol years.

Show him some love and enjoy the episode. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights.

I must say, I'm a little sad this series is coming to an end. I've enjoyed Tom and his stories! I always find it very interesting to see how agencies outside of Arizona handled business and what better city to get a "behind the scenes" view than Detroit!

Turn this one up, grab your cold drink and enjoy the ride as we head into the Christmas Holiday!!!

Like some of my previous guests, I spent some time "gushing" over Mark. Throughout his career, he was always motivated, looked sharp in uniform, and seemed to truly be called to this profession!!! And I really appreciated that about him because, as we all know, this job can suck the life out of you.

He stayed in patrol, working Operations Division East for most of his career. I was interested to hear he started in Michigan after a short tour in the Army. He was an EMT too! I'm really excited for you all to hear this one, Mark is awesome!!

In this episode, we continued our conversation about her 30+ year career. We took a deep dive into the Schwartz/ Stidham "murder for hire" here in Tucson. I've enjoyed these two episodes, and I can't wait for her to come back in a few weeks, because we still have a lot to cover!

Turn it up, give her the warmest welcome Squad!!!!

Jason moved to Arizona with his mom and sisters as a kid. After high school, he joined the Marine Corps and served in Washington DC, then deployed overseas. When he returned home, he found another way to serve... law enforcement.

He joined the Pima County Sheriff's department but thought he wouldn't get hired if he did not agree to move to the Town of Ajo. After a family emergency back in Tucson, Jason realized he needed to leave the PCSO if he wanted to move closer to his family.

He joined the Tucson Police Department where I became aware of him and wanted him to come work with me in the Force Unit but it was not meant to be. Jason put in for several special assignments, including the SWAT team, but could not manage to get out of patrol.

He made the tough decision to leave for the Town of Marana Police Department where he was able to go back to school and he earned his Doctorates in Strategic Leadership. He retired but continues to serve the community while he searches for his next adventure. Give him a listen and a warm welcome!!!
