Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Idaho Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. Yesterday's drizzle washed the slate clean. Just a trace of rain, but enough to settle the dust and leave everything feeling fresh. Now the sun's taking over. Step outside in Boise this morning and you're at 31 degrees under clear skies. By afternoon? You'll hit a gorgeous 53 degrees with barely a whisper of wind. Perfect day to skip the gym and walk at lunch instead. Push north and the wind picks up. Northern Idaho wakes up at 30 degrees, but it'll feel like 24 around 7 A.M. thanks to that stiff south breeze. Gusts hit 26 miles an hour today as temperatures climb to 44 degrees. Your hair's getting styled whether you like it or not. Eastern Idaho gets the windiest deal. Morning feels like 29 degrees — that's the kind of cold that makes you reconsider every life choice. Actual temps sit at 29 degrees. Southwest winds gust to 29 miles an hour, enough to make your jacket flap like a flag. Highs reach 45 degrees under brilliant sunshine. Tonight stays partly cloudy everywhere. Lows settle into the upper 20s to low 30s. Friday cranks up the warmth. Boise hits 57 degrees. The rest of the state climbs into the mid-40s to low 50s. Here's your week ahead. Quiet weather holds through Friday. Saturday afternoon brings a weak system with a chance of rain showers that lingers into Sunday before clearing Monday. Temperatures climb into the upper 50s and low 60s by early next week — about 29 degrees to 29 degrees above normal for late February. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now. Spring's three weeks out. Enjoy the sunshine today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
