Welcome to Coffee With Jesus Contributor Spotlight! This month, we shine the spotlight on Elizabeth B. Bristol.

Elizabeth Bristol is an esteemed author.

While working as a missionary in Palestine and Mozambique, Elizabeth found purpose for her wanderlust. She loved feeding people and spending a night each week on top of the Mount of Temptation fasting and praying. She loved the miracles and healings she saw, even though she often wondered, Will I live through this?

She’d always thought hanging out with God would be boring and she’d have no cool friends. What a big lie that turned out to be. She’s driven across the country 48 times often arriving at “just the right time” to process a road-killed moose or throw on a hoop skirt and dance the Virginia Reel at a Civil War reenactment. She’s spoken to all kinds of groups and worked as a camp counselor where she created a virtual mission trip for kids.

We can all find hope in family...and yet family comes in many forms.

In this Advent special, our host talks about family, about hope and about decorating for Christmas.

Our host will go all out with the decorating at my house. Clark Griswald? He’s an amateur. While some may think that misses the point and the spirit of Christmas. There is a reason why our host enjoys Christmas to its fullest each year. One year, he almost didn’t survive Christmas.

This is not going to be the typical episode of Coffee With Jesus.

Since the mid 2000's, there has been a rise in kids born with special needs. Groups serving these kids, and their parents, have also increased. What about those kids who age out of the programs? What happens to them?

That is called "the cliff" in the special needs community.

In this episode, our special guest, Julie Schall, talks about how God called her to serve those who aged out of the programs available to them. Listen to hear both the need these adults have and the hope that is provided to them.

Welcome to Coffee With Jesus Contributor Spotlight! This month, we shine the spotlight on Paige Van Meter Sturgeon.

Paige has a Masters degree in Christian Counseling.

In her life journey, she’s helped adolescents and adults work through the trauma and grief in their lives. She wrote the Anchor for Life program used as a suicide prevention course available to be used online for high school students.

She also wrote “Strides4Healing” a workbook created for people who have lost someone to suicide. She created a library in a little parsonage house a church is letting her use and she runs it as a resource space and library for student use in her home state of KY.

She loves helping all ages read the stories of their lives and to help them see God’s transformative power working in them.

Not everyone who says, “God told me…” is speaking truth. With so many voices out there, particularly about the end times, it’s easy to be overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, and fear. So, how can we learn to discern false prophets?
