This interview is with Rob Grant, the writer and director of 'This Too Shall Pass', a coming-of-age film currently playing in select Canadian theatres and on VOD. This Too Shall Pass follows Simon, a teenager from a Mormon household, who decides to go on a trip to Ottawa with his friends in the hopes of getting the girl. While there, Simon and his crew get into several adventures and learn more about themselves in the process.
In this conversation, you’ll learn more about what drew Rob to write and direct a coming-of-age film after mostly doing horror projects, why Simon’s urge to live like the movies is something that he relates to, as well as the ‘80s references that make the film so nostalgic.
