À propos de cet audio
We've talked about Thorcon's MSR in Indonesia being what will most likely be the first commercial molten salt reactor to come to market and how China is pushing full steam ahead into building MSRs. But what is going on in the world of molten salt reactors/nuclear energy in the West?
Enter Terrestrial Energy. A Canadian nuclear startup looking to build an integral molten salt reactor, or IMSR, and have it hit the market by 2028. It uses uranium tetrafluoride as fuel and would be a single fluid burner reactor.
In addition, Canada is funding GE Hitachi's BWRX-300 SMR, which has agreements with utility companies in the U.S., Poland, Estonia, and the Czech Republic to explore commercial deployment.
