À propos de cet audio

“Correct Me if I’m Norm” is a good-natured, Rhinebeck (New York) focused, one-on-one (mostly) free-formish interview-format program, covering all topics from the personal to the universal. It’s hosted by Norm Magnusson, who is an artist and father of three and an active member of his community in the small town of Rhinebeck, NY. Every week, he interviews folks who live and/or work in Rhinebeck about who they are and how they got here and what they’re up to. “I’m very interested in collecting the stories of the people who made this town what it is and those who are continuing to do so”, he explains, adding that he’s deeply appreciative for all the people who come to the Nook @ The Epicurean to talk with him and thanks the Epicurean and RadioFreeRhinecliff.org for making it all possible. Adult themes, childish banter, strong language, and a lot of levity. 60 minutes. Produced by Jennifer Hammoud & Matty Rosenberg @ radiofreerhinecliff.org© 2022 - 2024 Sciences sociales

Join Norm for a conversation with Mickey Haggerty and Suzanne Kelly, fixtures at the Rhinebeck Farmer's Market where they sell saffron, turmeric, and other crops raised on their Green Owl Farm. They discuss how Mickey, a retired trust and estates attorney and the farm's official "farm hand," connected with Suzanne, author and retired professor who serves as "owner and grower," when he helped her purchase a house in Rhinebeck. They share their journey from becoming friends to establishing Green Owl Farm and advocating for green burial practices. They also cover Mickey's historical ties to Poughkeepsie and Suzanne's transition from academia to farming and becoming a cemetery administrator.

    Nov 30 2025

Norm welcomes Sam Simon, host of the new podcast "Technocracy for Dummies" and a Bard art history major specializing in experimental humanities. Sam explains the evolution of technocracy from its origins as a vision of scientific governance to today's reality of tech billionaires wielding unprecedented power over government and society.
Norm delves into Sam’s interest in avant-garde art and the work of video art pioneer Nam June Paik and his collaborator Charlotte Moorman, exploring the gender dynamics in the art world of the 1960s and 70s. They also discuss their generational perspectives on data privacy and social media's omnipresence, with Sam giving a Gen Z perspective on how digital platforms shape expectations and identity.

  • From the Mississippi Delta to Rhinebeck: Adele Abide's Design Journey
    Nov 28 2025

Norm is joined by Rhinebeck's own Adele Abide. Raised in the Mississippi Delta as a Lebanese-American, Adele shares her journey of culture shock upon arriving at the Rhode Island School of Design to study fashion. She reflects on creating her own line of dresses, transitioning to become creative director at a garden furniture company, and eventually establishing an interior decorating firm alongside her husband. Throughout the conversation, Adele discusses the influence of her family, the unique experience of growing up in a small southern town, and her winding path through fashion, art, and design, a journey that led her to finding both personal and professional fulfillment in the Hudson Valley.
