Shubhangi Shekhar, aka Shubhi, is a producer a filmmaker who grew up in a small town in Missouri where she struggled to integrate her Indian heritage with her environment. Despite the challenge, her artistic voice is fundamentally rooted in the cross-section between Western and South Asian cinema, and she aims to tell unique, female-centric stories that gauge mass audiences across language, cultural, and gender barriers. She is currently working on an India rising documentary and is the producer for our short film, "SCARS". Listen in to our conversation as her favorite film growing up circled its way around into the work she is currently doing, as well as learn the depths of the Bollywood industry.
