Ever wonder about Death and what happens when someone Dies?

Welcome to the "Dialogues About Death" Show, hosted by Chris Miller, the Funeral Home Owner and Director of Thomas Miller Mortuary & Crematory in Corona California. Chris is not your stereotypical mortician. As a child, he actually grew up in a funeral home. As a matter of fact, his current office used to be his boyhood bedroom. So, he has a lifetime of experiences to share.

In this Podcast, Chris offers his take on various topics including grief, hope, loss, legacy and the blessings that come through the process. Each episode provides clear, compassionate insights and ideas on honoring your loved ones memories. He also delves into practical topics, all while cutting through industry jargon.

Whether you're navigating personal grief or seeking professional guidance, these conversations are designed to help you understand and cope with life's most challenging transitions. Feel free to reach out to us for any questions, support, or to discuss how we can assist you in commemorating the lives of your loved ones.

    - When the first holiday without a loved one arrives, what are three practical coping moves to get through the day without feeling overwhelmed?
    - For people who’ve never talked about funeral wishes, what’s a gentle script or opening line they can use with parents or a partner?
    - How can people support friends or neighbors who are grieving over the holidays? Like what to say, what to avoid, and one small thing that really helps?
    - How can families turn pre-need planning into a positive conversation... one that honors values rather than feeling morbid?
    - For parents caring for children during their first holiday after loss, what age-appropriate ways can they explain absence and keep traditions gentle and safe?
Chris will also be answering these and a variety of questions that have been submitted, plus sharing interesting stories from the death care industry, so join us at 9:00am PT to ask questions and get your questions answered LIVE!
And if you would be so kind, please share this with a friend who might be blessed with this information or have questions too, as they can get them answered during the show and it might bring them comfort.

  • Dialogues About Death | E27 How to Use Food, Music & Rituals to Remember and Heal
    Oct 25 2025

In episode 27 of the "Dialogues About Death" Show we will explore “How to Use Food, Music and Rituals to Remember and Heal.”

Whether you’ve lost someone recently or simply want to deepen your understanding of meaningful remembrance, this episode will shine a light on how food, song and ritual can knit together memory, celebration, and comfort.

Some of the questions we'll discuss are:

    1. Music often evokes strong emotions and memories. In what ways can choosing particular songs or creating a playlist become a ritual that honors life, helps those grieving, and opens a space for healing?

    2. Many rituals around death are traditional and public ...but what are small everyday rituals families can use (in the home, kitchen, playlist, memory box) to keep a relationship with the deceased alive, not just in memory but in practice?

    3. How do cultural traditions (for example food offerings, music styles, ancestral rituals) shape the way families remember and heal ...and how might families adapt or personalize these traditions when they don’t neatly align with their own background or beliefs?

Watch the episode HERE on our Facebook page or YouTube Channel and join the conversation!

Hope you'll come on live to watch, ask questions or just enjoy... invite a neighbor, tell a friend, and let’s build the kind of community that helps us all thrive!
