Nearly two decades ago, when I was 30, I left the UK with a round-the-world ticket, and no plan to return. I left in secret and in shame. I then spent 7 months drifting through Dubai, India, Hong Kong, South East Asia, and finally on to Australia.

Back then, I scribbled everything down in internet cafés—before smartphones and curated feeds—trying to capture the mess, the magic, and the madness of real travel. This is that diary, finally out of the hard drive and into the world.

This isn’t polished travel blogging or viral social media nonsense. It’s unfiltered, unedited, and brutally honest.
