Whether anyone wants to say it or not, having a distraction during a time of deep sadness, grief, unknowing, etc. is a great way to breathe. It's called giving yourself a break.
The part that begins to go south is when that healthy distraction turns unhealthy. From excess, neglecting other important values you held closely to your heart, and attaching your worth to this distraction-- it's useful to identify when it's time to notice this change has occurred. You can't receive help/guidance until you can realize the distraction is temporary and won't REALLY work through what you initially needed to process.
