  • Rats! Stacy’s Back with Her Heir and The Spare
    Sep 12 2025

Stacy is back in the studio and at home and facing unique challenges like the lingering scent of moldy bagels, feline antics (maybe it’s time for a pet psychic?), and plenty of cleaning projects. Meanwhile, Eric finds himself dealing with unexpected crawl space surprises and learns about the science behind corpse-odor removal (note: maybe mint isn’t ideal after all). The pair chat about pop culture, including Hugh Jackman's upcoming Neil Diamond-inspired movie with Kate Hudson, Neil Diamond tribute bands. Stacy’s Cultural Blind spots are a follow up to past references for instance, Spinal Tap's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel and Netflix’s "The Thursday Murder Club" while Eric reviews "Interstellar" and its ensemble cast, leading to musings on quotable classics like "Dazed and Confused" and their connections to other iconic films. Travel plans, late-night schedules, rodent-proofing a new deck, and household supply debates all get airtime—plus, quirky observations about irony and Alanis Morissette. Tune in for this blend of humor, home adventures, film nostalgia, and practical advice! DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram as @dontaskme to talk or email asking@dontaskmetotalk.com to connect.

  • Peanut Butter Pretzels, Pop Culture Blindspots and What's our Beef?
    Sep 5 2025

Join Stacy and Eric as they discuss Stacy’s lakeside adventures and Eric’s deck renovation woes. This episode dives into the quirks of Spotify daylists, the pitfalls of AI-generated work, and the age-old debate over peanut butter pretzels versus Cheezits. Eric shares his kayaking tales and a memorable Wet Leg show, while Stacy reflects on her favorite road trip snacks and her evolving stance on snacks.

The conversation meanders through pop culture highlights - from Moonlighting’s iconic lighting and Bruce Willis’s retro wine cooler ads to Eric’s rediscovery of “12 Angry Men” and Stacy’s thoughts on “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult. The duo also revisits comedy classics like “The Naked Gun” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”, pondering their place in movie history.

To round things off, Stacy and Eric tackle the ultimate question: What’s the best way to eat beef? Tune in for laughs, tangents, and plenty of heart as your podcast pals prove, once again, how entertaining the right kind of talk can be! Next up: Heir and a spare? • Gertie Bolts, The Robot Missteps, and Should We Start Bowling?
    Aug 29 2025

Get ready for another whirlwind episode with Eric and Stacy, your podcast pals who prove it’s not what you do, but how you retell it! Stacy’s still dealing with a persistent ankle injury and some questionable eyesight (highlighted by her paint-by-numbers struggle), but she’s also discovering new territory at the lake house, including Roosters in Tonasket, where the ice cream is delicious and cheap. Meanwhile, Coal’s late-night antics keep Stacy on her toes, and Eric’s dog Gertie is up to her usual mischief, making a brief getaway before returning home in record time. Eric and “the girlfriend” take to Commencement Bay for a kayaking adventure, though not without a minor mechanical malfunction where he almost blew his gasket or was it his valve?! Listener Sudsy in the Suburbs writes in to Dear Crabby about showering habits, prompting a refreshing conversation (pun intended) on the topic. In Cultural Blindspot updates, Stacy surprises Eric by finally watching RoboCop and loving the satirical newsbreaks and the unforgettable ED-209 stair mishap. Eric revisits Tron, only to find it hasn’t improved since childhood. The Wheel O’ Topics lands on Hobbies, leading to a thoughtful discussion about creative outlets, world-building, and why hobbies—like older men building trains—deserve respect and community, not shame. Tune in for all the tangents, laughs, and heartwarming moments that make Don’t Ask Me to Talk the right kinda talk! • Baddies, Bats and Blindspots, oui?
    Aug 22 2025

DAMTT: Baddies, Bats and Blindspots, oui?

Ready for another dose of conversational chaos? After a brief break, Eric and Stacy return refreshed and ready to tackle the tangents. Eric recounts his adventures, from playing a gig at The Valley with Battersea (and selling another coveted T-shirt!), to kayaking with “the girlfriend” and spotting sea lions and celebrating his dad’s birthday over a fish-leaping lunch. Stacy, meanwhile, faces down two surprise bats hiding in her patio umbrella—no bueno, but plenty of guano.

The duo swaps stories about gluttonous grocery trips and cross-border sweet treats, including Stacy’s Canadian wine gums (not “gummies”—don’t worry, border guards, they’re THC-free!). That leads to a detour into UK canned cocktails, notably Eric’s preferred Harvey Wallbanger.

This week, Stacy brings a burning question to Dear Crabby about kids and cursing, while Eric’s “effing and Jeffing” in ALL CAPS with online customer service cements his “bad boy” reputation. For once, Stacy checks off a Cultural Blindspot by finally watching This is Spinal Tap—turns out it really does go to 11. Eric revisits RoboCop (which he touts as “lightning in a bottle”) and champions The Hudsucker Proxy as a criminally underrated classic.

To wrap up, Stacy and Eric ponder which third language they’d learn, after English and high school choices. Eric abandoned Japanese when his linguistic partner abandoned him, while Stacy dreams of French—just to deliver a little rudeness back. DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram as @dontaskmetotalk. DAMTT: Burgers, Bunnyman, and Broken Hearts

In this episode, Eric talks about his Oregon coast adventures, including sunburns, post-punk music, Astoria’s pop culture fame, and local eats. Aug 1 2025

    DAMTT: Do Majors Matter?

Ready for another wild spin on the Wheel O’ Tangents? This episode finds Stacy embracing “roid rage” (thanks, prescription steroids) and losing sleep—while Eric fondly remembers his polio vaccine as oddly tasty. We’ve got first crushes, canine and musical (Devo), plus a sweaty, shirtless Iggy Pop sighting at the park. The duo finally wraps up The Godfather II, checks off more cultural blindspots, and debates the cinematic merits of both The Fantastic Four and Superman (spoiler: Eric’s reviews are glowing). Stacy attempts to “get” Happy Gilmore 2—and mostly doesn’t. And when it comes to the big question, “Do majors matter?” Eric’s got an answer that depends on the branch of the military. For all the delightful chaos and sideways opinions, tune in and let the tangents take over! Don’t Ask Me to Talk delivers! DAMTT is on Facebook and Instagram as dontaskmetotalk. • Prized Possessions
    Jul 25 2025

Coal the cat drops in as Stacy and Eric debate RICE vs MEAT (hint: both come with side effects), relive Field Day fails, and celebrate Eric’s quest for a car—big cupholders, vibrating seats, and all. Dear Crabby dishes on weed, and the hosts dissect the first half of The Godfather Part II (verdict: Al Pacino is cute, Eric’s been to Tahoe). This week’s topic? Prized possessions. Turns out, they’ve got plenty but narrow down surprisingly easily. Plus, a Cheezit hack you’ll want to know. Tune in for tangents, laughs, and the kind of chaos only Don’t Ask Me to Talk delivers!
