Nov. 16, 2025 ~ Since 1980, Midwest Independent Retailers Foundation (MIRF) and its members have been committed to providing turkeys to families in need, veterans, women's shelters, and more. Bill Wild, president of MIRF, and Kristin Olmedo, president and CEO of the United Community Family Services, talk about the Nov. 21 turkey giveaway. For more than 50 years, HAVEN has served survivors of intimate partner violence as Oakland County’s only comprehensive program for victims of domestic abuse. HAVEN is sending out the call to recruit 100 men to mitigate domestic violence and provide counsel to other men throughout the course of the year.
