À propos de cet audio
In this episode, Tina talks with Yvonne Thackray, a Clinical Academic Radiographer with over 30 years of experience. Yvonne was previously the Academy Lead for the North Central London Imaging Academy, and is a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University.
We explore mammography – a type of X-ray used to check for breast cancer. Yvonne shares how she got started in the field, what a typical day looks like, and what progression looks like. Tune in to hear her reflections on a varied and rewarding career — and her advice for anyone considering this important and evolving specialty.
Correction: In this episode, it was stated that during a contrast-enhanced mammogram, the injection site is the nipple. This is incorrect — the contrast agent (iodine) is injected into a vein in the arm, not the nipple.
