Elexa shares her journey of being told to step into the wrestling room—a moment that nearly had her turning around before she even began. Walking through those doors felt foreign and uncomfortable, but instead of walking away, she made a decision: to show that girls belong on the mat too.
With a background in jiu-jitsu, Elexa wasn’t new to combat sports, but wrestling was a whole new challenge. Still, she stuck with it. Through grit, long practices, and mental battles, she transformed into a force—becoming a 2x regional qualifier and earning a spot at the state competition.
But Elexa doesn’t sugarcoat her journey. She opens up about struggling with motivation and recognizing when her mindset wasn’t where it needed to be. Instead of running from the storm, she chose to face it head-on—and promised herself it wouldn’t happen again.
