À propos de cet audio
This month’s chat with Eve honestly felt like a big exhale. December energy is real, and Eve is right in the middle of it—balancing kids, work deadlines, Christmas chaos, end-of-year functions, tired mornings, and still somehow squeezing in her runs… or gentle walks… or naps… or the occasional lunchtime wine 😉
Here’s what we dive into:
⭐ Life is a workout too
Eve shares how mental fatigue has been hitting hard, and how she’s learning (slowly!) to treat her brain and body as one energy system—not two separate boxes. Her honesty about feeling like a zombie some mornings will resonate with every parent and every runner this time of year.
⭐ A rare perfect morning run
One morning she magically woke up early, smashed out a strong 5K, cooked dinner, made kids’ lunches, washed and dried her hair, and arrived at work happy and glowing. The kind of morning that reminds you, “Oh right… I am still capable of this!”
⭐ Giving herself permission to walk
She’s embracing slower movement when needed—because, let’s be honest, Delirious is mostly walking anyway. A brilliant mindset shift that came after our earlier chats.
⭐ Her December race: Three Inch Trail
Eve officially signed up (and dragged Brian along 😄). It’s a WA favourite—23 km of hills, friends, and festive energy. A perfect “finish the year without frying yourself” kind of event.
⭐ Real talk about iron levels & health
Eve admits she probably needs an iron check (history of issues + fatigue = big hint). We dig into why getting these things sorted before peak training matters.
⭐ The chaos of parenting in December
Graduations, orientations, camps, school deadlines, Christmas shopping, dentist appointments… it’s no wonder running feels harder.
⭐ A gentle reminder: maintaining is enough right now
She’s not chasing mileage, not doing speed work, not stressing. She’s just maintaining her base and protecting her mental health. And honestly—that’s perfect for this time of year.
⭐ Looking ahead
January brings light at 4:30am (WA you little show-off!), easier routines, and space to rebuild. And Eve knows from experience—her fitness will return.
