  • Beyond the Manger
    Dec 17 2025

Christmas doesn’t end when we pack up the nativity and drag the tree to the curb. The arrival of Jesus wasn’t just a sweet, sentimental moment—it was a cosmic one. In this final episode of the Christmas series, we talk about how the story goes beyond the manger into our identity, our peace, and the way we walk into January and beyond.

    In this episode we’ll explore:

Why the angels’ announcement to the shepherds was a cosmic event, not just a cute scene (Luke 2:8–14)

What it really means that “the Word became flesh” and how I explain that to my kids (John 1:1, 14)

How Jesus’ coming gives us a new identity as children of God, not spiritual employees trying to earn our keep (John 1:12; Romans 8:15–17)

The difference between fitting in and belonging—and why Christmas anchors us in real belonging

How Jesus brings a peace the world cannot manufacture, especially for those carrying heaviness this season (Isaiah 9:6–7; Philippians 4:7; Galatians 5:22–23)

Why suffering is not the end of the story, and how Revelation 21 gives us hope when life feels anything but “merry and bright”

If you’re feeling let down after Christmas, weighed down by grief or stress, or just wondering how any of this actually impacts your real life in January—this conversation is for you.

  • Promise Becomes Personal
    Dec 10 2025

In Week 2 of our Christmas series, we’re zooming in on how real people responded when the news of Jesus interrupted their lives.

We’ll walk through the stories of Mary, Joseph, Zechariah, Elizabeth, the shepherds, the magi, and Herod—and what their responses reveal about faith, doubt, control, courage, and joy. From Mary’s honest questions to Joseph’s costly obedience, from Zechariah’s skepticism to Elizabeth’s celebration, each person gives us a different window into how we might respond to Jesus, too.

By the end, I’ll invite you to ask a simple but challenging question:

How am I actually responding to Jesus in this season—not just in theory, but in my real, everyday life?

  • Before the Manger: The Bigger Story of Christmas
    Dec 3 2025

We tend to start the Christmas story with a manger, some shepherds, and maybe an angel choir. But the story of Christmas actually began much earlier—when brokenness first entered the world.

In this first episode of the Christmas series, we zoom out and look at the big picture of Christmas:
how sin fractured our relationship with God, how shame entered the story, and how God immediately began a rescue plan that would one day lead to Jesus.

    We’ll walk through:

    • The moment brokenness entered the story (Genesis 3)
    • Why sin always hurts and breaks relationships
    • God’s “passionate commitment” to His people (Isaiah 9:6–7)
    • The promise of a righteous King who would make us right with God (Jeremiah 23:5–6)
    • What it really means that “the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” (John 1:14)

If you’re walking into this season feeling a little worn out, ashamed, or unsure how your story fits into the “Christmas cheer,” this episode is for you. The Christmas story reminds us that when everything looked broken, God wasn’t finished yet—and He’s not finished with you either.

    Scriptures: Genesis 3, Isaiah 9:6–7, Jeremiah 23:5–6, John 1:14

  • When You Don't Know the Next Right Step - Everyday Truths Podcast
    Nov 19 2025

In this episode, Wes and I dig into something we all wrestle with: how to make decisions when you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or overthinking every option. We talk about the ways we’re wired differently—he’s the “slow down, think it through” brake pedal, and I’m the “let’s move and figure it out on the way” gas pedal—and how God speaks to each of us uniquely.

    You’ll hear us unpack:

    • What to do when your mind feels crowded
    • Why obedience matters more than outcomes
    • How to trust God with steps that don’t make sense yet
    • How to bring your wiring (not someone else’s) into your faith

    Plus, a special announcement:
🎄 All December long, I’m releasing 90-second Christmas devotionals across social media. Think tiny truth breaks to help you pause, breathe, and re-center around Jesus.

  • Parenting When You Feel Clueless (But Want to Get It Right)
    Nov 12 2025

Parenting is wild. One minute you’re praying sweet bedtime prayers, the next minute you’re saying, “No more questions. Go to sleep.” And somehow, this whole exhausting, beautiful thing is one of the clearest ways we see the heart of God.

In this episode of the Everyday Truths Podcast, Sherri is joined by her husband Wesley for a real, unpolished conversation on parenting with purpose. Using the same framework they apply to strong relationships—eat together, play together, talk about life & God together, work together—they share how those rhythms shape the way they raise their kids.

    They talk about:

    • Why it’s normal to feel unqualified (and why dependence on God is part of the design)
    • Setting shared parenting goals so your day-to-day decisions aren’t random or reactive
    • Teaching kids kindness, boundaries, and ownership of their choices
    • Parenting different personalities with the same core values
    • Praying over your kids, seeing who God made them to be (not who you wish they were), and playing the long game: grown kids who still want to come home

Whether you’re parenting littles, leading teens, co-parenting, single parenting, or investing in nieces, nephews, or students—this episode will help you think about parenting with more clarity, grace, and intentionality.

    Prompt to Take With You:
What vision or “true north” do you want to guide the way you show up for the kids in your life?

  • How We Actually Work Together (Without Killing Each Other)
    Nov 12 2025

How do you actually work together with your spouse without constantly tripping over each other’s expectations, personalities, and plans?

In this episode of the Everyday Truths Podcast, Sherri is joined by her husband, Wesley, to answer a listener question: “How do you guys work together?” From playful conspiracy theories to practical frameworks, they unpack how they’ve learned to live as teammates—not rivals—in marriage, family life, and calling.

    Together they talk about:

    • Seeing marriage as a shared mission instead of separate agendas
    • The power of “same team” language and why it’s anchored in Genesis
    • The four markers of providential relationships: eating, playing, talking about life & God, and working together
    • How they decide who leads and who supports on projects (without ego… most days 😉)
    • Why unspoken goals create tension—and how naming a clear, shared goal can shift the whole tone of a day, a move, or even the holidays

This conversation is for couples, friends, teammates, and anyone who wants their relationships to feel more united and intentional.

What’s one shared goal you can clearly communicate this week so you can stop guessing and start pulling in the same direction?

  • When You're Afraid to Do What God's Asking
    Oct 22 2025

What if the hardest part of obedience isn’t knowing what God said—but trusting Him enough to do it?

This week, Sherri sits down with John Pyle to talk about the moments when you know what God’s asking, but fear, timing, or uncertainty make it hard to move.

From discerning God’s voice to finding peace in the pause, this honest conversation will help you take your next step of faith—one small act of trust at a time.
