The truth of the little song from Bible school is big! Abraham established more than a covenant with God, but the foundation of righteousness being imputed on the basis of faith! Faith in who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He has promised is what saves us. In particular it is faith in the Son of God, who was born of a virgin, born under the law, yet never sinned, died upon the cross in our place, was buried three days, the rose again, ascended to the father and has promised to return! This is saving faith!
