    “Why would a Great Teacher decide to NOT SAVE HIM/HERSELF?” John 12:24 English Standard Version Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

    How does this help me teach? Mark 8:35: "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever is willing to lose for this world will have life." If you quit teaching before you know in your heart you are supposed to, then you will lose the life you were meant to have. You’ll have a job and keep existing, but as the weeks go by you’ll know that something is extremely different. Even with a huge pay raise, your life will not be fulfilling as it was.

    As you are in service to God, the Father honors on Earth AND in Heaven. On Earth you receive provision (your family will not go hungry!) In my situation, I have not been evicted from my home and for 7 months I was earning $40 per week. * Do you choose to stay on your cross until you produce fruit? OR * Do you love your life so much that you are willing to lose it for eternity?

    Today’s Professional Development turns the spotlight on the 2nd teaching temptation “Lust of the Eyes”. Prof McDuffie shares the positive results of 2 best practices for dealing with this. First, he explains: the negative effects of this lust; why it matters in the educational realm (especially for 1st year/ rookie teachers); and why it matters after hours at home. Then we walk through the word of God to pinpoint 2-4 strategies employed by Jesus & his disciples in order to not be ‘beta’ to Satan & #StaySigma with Christ. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, these Generation Alpha strategies are Simple, Effective, and Actionable in any classroom with any teacher throughout the United States. LTaS GOAL: Give strategies to help 3.2 million educators teach in victory, while also helping educators spend more quality time at home. WHY SUPPORT LTaS? District leaders, school admin & community stakeholders: If your educators are teaching in victory, they: Keep their fire burning to stay teaching for more years, Know all growth starts with relationship, so decrease out of control behavior on campus, Comprehend the academic routines for success, so produce higher academic results, Have a greater well-being, so need less mental health days, Don’t need to be recruited nor onboarded each year, which decreases school costs, Understand it takes a village to raise children, so engage more parents, and Are consistently sharing love, so impact more families in your school community. As a Black Educator, #LTaS propelled me to lean into the system God has created rather than man trusting that all will be right if I surrender to Him alone. As a Loving Husband, #LTaS gave me the confidence to spend less of the family’s money on my classroom and more towards the investments and business my family chooses. I am now utilizing my time to create Donors Choose campaigns, grants and Amazon Wish lists to fulfill the classroom supply needs since God supplies everything I need for my classroom AND home. As a Christian, #LTaS has grown my FAITH to have me give more, because we can’t out give God and we are always sufficient in all things according to what is written. I have no reason to have a poverty mindset, nor be envious of other classrooms. As a Learning Father to a son with Autism, #LTaS helped me realize I haven’t always been grateful for what I have already. Even if there is something that seems good, I need to be more thankful for the abilities I possess and the environment around me. Objective : We CAN & WILL … trust the resources we already have and reject envy and the poverty mindset. Biblical Base : Luke 4:5-8 | Word of the Week : Sufficient GenAlpha Dictionary : FLEX Much like flexing your muscles, this slang term is used to call out another person for showing off or boasting. According to Dictionary.com, it doesn’t have the most positive connotation, as it’s associated with power moves, insecurity, arrogance and insincerity. For example, I’m totally flexing my knowledge of tween slang right now.     During this Free PD session, Teacher Retention Specialist David McDuffie gets RAW on his experiences with the first of the 3 temptations teachers go through in the profession. Temptations are used to get positively passionate educators to lose their inner drive, stay stagnant, become apathetic about teaching, ruin their reputation, and/or dishonorably end their teaching career. These powerful, culture-altering strategies can be employed by school staff supervising Generation Alpha children & teens. The impact of listening: As a Black Educator, my trials aren't related to my ethnicity, but more related to what I carry on the inside that prompts me to seek help rather than isolate believing most staff is against me. As a Male Educator, I understand that I may be tempted more than most, since the agenda is for children to grow up with disorder, confusion, chaos, and without the blessing of understanding their purpose on Earth. As a Husband/Father, the importance of praying in the evening and/or early morning are pivotal to keeping the progress the family has, because demons are seeking for gaps in protection. As a Christian, I'm reminded that it's my actions of prayer/fasting/giving thanks/meditating on the word, not just words of past faith that protect me from satan's advances. I need to fight spiritually instead of thinking many issues are simply physical.
