  • Learning to Swim // Part 2: Getting the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Pastor Mike Stevens)
    Dec 15 2025

This week, Pastor Mike Stevens teaches about the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit’s baptism. Something God generously gives, not something we must work for or deserve. Instead of viewing the Holy Spirit like a transaction, Pastor Mike encourages us to simply receive what God pours out.

He also talks about the powerful sign of spiritual baptism: praying in tongues. The Bible shows this gift appearing again and again as believers are filled with the Spirit. Every believer’s experience may look different, but when we seek God and walk in faith, we can trust that He is moving—sometimes in ways that grow clearer over time.

  • Learning to Swim // Part 2: Getting the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Pastor Daniel Stevens)
    Dec 15 2025

In Part 2 of Learning to Swim, Pastor Daniel Stevens continues exploring what it means to live a life filled with the Holy Spirit. This message focuses on receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit. A gift God offers freely, not something we earn or “unlock” through a transaction. We can receive it with open hearts and faith, knowing God desires to empower His people.

He explains that Scripture consistently shows speaking in tongues accompanying this baptism. While the experience may look different for each believer, we don’t need goosebumps or emotional proof, faith and evidence in Scripture matter more. We grow by inviting the Holy Spirit to move in our lives, being patient with the process, and continuing to connect with God daily.

  • Learning to Swim // Part 2: Getting the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Pastor Mike Jurek)
    Dec 15 2025

Pastor Mike Jurek shares how the baptism in the Holy Spirit brings power, bold faith, and a deeper connection with God. This isn’t something we purchase with spiritual performance. It’s a loving gift God offers His children.

He emphasizes that Scripture repeatedly points to speaking in tongues as a clear and practical way believers know that the Holy Spirit has come upon them. Whether the moment feels dramatic or simple, what truly matters is trusting God, asking for more of His presence, and continuing to walk in faith as He leads.

  • Learning to Swim // Part 1: What is the baptism in the Holy Spirit? (Pastor Mike Stevens)
    Dec 8 2025

In Part 1 of Learning to Swim, Pastor Mike Stevens explains what the baptism in the Holy Spirit truly is — an immersion in God Himself. Just like jumping into a lake is a deeper experience than drinking water or getting rained on, the Holy Spirit invites us into a life fully immersed in His presence. We aren’t meant to jump in and get right back out — we are meant to learn how to swim and live daily in the Spirit.

This baptism is found throughout Scripture — in Joel’s prophecy, in all four Gospels, in Acts, and the New Testament letters. Pastor Mike shows that salvation and Spirit baptism are distinct experiences, and that water baptism is different yet again. Even if someone hasn’t been baptized in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit is still at work in their life — and God’s promise is that every believer can receive this gift today.

  • Learning to Swim // Part 1: What is the baptism in the Holy Spirit? (Pastor Daniel Stevens)
    Dec 8 2025

In the first message of Learning to Swim, Pastor Daniel Stevens emphasizes that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an invitation to live fully filled with God — not just experiencing Him from a distance. You don’t just dip your toes in; you jump into the deep end and actually learn how to stay in the water. God calls us to live continually empowered and led by His Spirit.

Throughout the Bible, the Spirit’s baptism is shown to be important and available — from prophecy in the Old Testament to Jesus’ teachings and the early Church in Acts. Pastor Daniel also highlights that being saved and being filled are different steps in the believer’s walk. The Holy Spirit is already moving in your life, but God has even more — and His promise of the Spirit is still for every believer today.

  • Learning to Swim // Part 1: What is the baptism in the Holy Spirit? (Pastor Mike Jurek)
    Dec 8 2025

In Part 1 of Learning to Swim, Pastor Mike Jurek shares how the baptism in the Holy Spirit is about stepping into a deeper relationship with God — like diving into a lake rather than only sipping water from a glass. God doesn’t want us to just feel a splash; He invites us to grow confident and strong in the fullness of the Spirit.

This teaching is rooted firmly in Scripture — from Joel’s prophecy to the ministry of Jesus and the movement of the early Church. Pastor Mike explains that salvation, water baptism, and Spirit baptism each have a unique purpose. The Holy Spirit is already present in believers, yet God promises even more — an empowerment He still offers to every follower of Jesus today.

  • What Are We Doing? // Part 7: Core Value 5 (Pastor Mike Stevens)
    Dec 1 2025

In this message, Pastor Mike Stevens teaches on Core Value #5: This should not be the last generation of pastors. Jesus still calls people to ministry, and the need remains great. The church must create room for the next generation, resist the temptation to “eat pastors alive,” and encourage those stepping into their calling. Scripture reminds us that while not everyone is called to vocational ministry, every believer must be willing if God calls.

Pastor Mike also warns that ministry is both full and challenging — Jesus Himself sent His disciples out “as sheep among wolves.” Those called must put on the full armor of God, and those not called must avoid becoming wolves through biting, destroying, or discouraging. Instead, we are called to be ladder-bearers who lift up future leaders. Every believer has a next step with Jesus, and embracing that step leads to the abundant life Christ promised.

  • What Are We Doing? // Part 7: Core Value 5 (Pastor Daniel Stevens)
    Dec 1 2025

In this week’s message, Pastor Daniel Stevens shares Core Value #5: We must invest in the next generation of pastors. The harvest is still plentiful, and Jesus continues to call people into ministry. As the church, our role is to support, encourage, and make space for those who step forward — not discourage them or tear them down. Even if we aren’t called to vocational ministry, every believer must remain willing to say “yes” if God leads.

Pastor Daniel also highlights the reality that ministry can be tough. Jesus warned that He was sending His followers out like sheep among wolves, so leaders must wear the full armor of God daily. Those not called shouldn’t act like wolves — biting, criticizing, or tearing down leaders — but instead become lifters and encouragers. We are all disciples, and each of us has a next step that draws us deeper into the life Jesus offers.
