The Chengdu J-10 Vigorous Dragon is a Chinese multirole combat aircraft developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation. Designed for air-to-air and strike missions, it features a delta wing-canard layout and first flew in 1998, entering service in 2004. Key variants include the J-10A, J-10S trainer, J-10B, and advanced J-10C, which boasts AESA radar and PL-10/PL-15 missiles. It is operated by China and Pakistan, with the latter flying the J-10CE. In May 2025, Pakistan claimed its J-10Cs shot down five Indian jets, including Rafales—a claim denied by India but emphasizing the jet’s potential in modern air combat.
