On the road to Damascus, Paul was unaware of the magnitude of God’s calling on his life until Jesus revealed Himself in a blinding light. Paul’s unawareness kept him focused on his own agenda, unable to see the greater purpose God had for him. Like Paul, we can miss God’s call when we aren’t tuned in to His voice, consumed by the noise of life or unaware that He’s speaking to us. But God’s call is clear, intentional, and always present—we just need to open our hearts and listen. In the story of Martha and Mary, Martha was so consumed with her many tasks that she missed the opportunity to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His teaching. When God called Moses from the burning bush, fear immediately became a barrier. Moses doubted his abilities, questioned God’s choice, and let his insecurities nearly keep him from stepping into the assignment God had prepared for him. Like Moses, we often feel inadequate or overwhelmed by fear when God calls us to something greater. But God’s response to Moses is the same for us: “I will be with you.” His presence equips and empowers us to overcome fear and fulfill His purpose. Will you trust God’s promise and step past fear to answer His call?

Jonah had a calling to reach the people of Nineveh, but resisted because he felt
they were unworthy of God’s mercy. Instead of going to them, he ran in the other direction! However, God used bold circumstances to lead Jonah back to his mission. Jonah went on to reach Nineveh, and the entire city was saved. Where is God calling you to go?
