    There are several words-of-year for 2025: Oxford has "rage bait" after last year's "brain rot." Webster has "slop." Dictionary.com has "67," which is a diverse meme. This year has continued the 2024 trend of a planet spinning much faster than has been recorded before, triggering debates about removing a second from the clock, i.e., the negative leap second. 2025 also brought us, as evidenced by the online slop of 67, which results in perpetual rage bait and a variety of increasingly dumber conspiracies.     It is that time of the year again, mainly that of the Winter Solstice, ghost riders, the wild hunt, Krampus, Belsnickel, Befana, Joulupukki, and, of course, Santa and baby Jesus. Few have probably ever considered how much like Halloween the Christmas season really is: from ghosts and monsters to the contractual obligations set forward in both the trick-or-treat agreement and the Santa “clause,” otherwise known as the naughty-or-nice list. The lights, ornaments, gifts, botanicals, and evergreen vegetation serve many roles in decorating for the holiday, or holy day, season. From real characters to mythological monsters; from folklore to modern religious celebrations; and from natural cyclical changes to interpretations of nature as the end-times apocalypse, it is certainly beginning to look a lot like Krampus. In the end-of-year 2025 search-result report from Pornhub, run by another Hirschfeld since 2023, named Solomon Friedman, searches for “femboy,” general LGBTQ, and “transgender” exploded in popularity. According to the data: “’ Trans threesome' up 67 per cent. 'Trans amateur' rose 49 per cent. Interestingly, this is the same type of material that was targeted for burning in 1930s Berlin by the rising nationalist movement, motivated more by citizens than even Nazism. The Institute for Sexual Science was responsible for pushing every manner of niche sexuality, gender ideology, and pornography onto the public, including children. Their speciality was transgenderism and sex-change surgeries. Considering the background of the people responsible for this perversion, then and today, are we heading for another Berlin book burning as we go around the Möbius strip of history?     3I/ATLAS, the third interstellar object ever detected, will make its closest approach to Earth on Friday, offering astronomers a rare opportunity to study it from a distance of about 170 million miles. Since its discovery in July, most scientists have identified the object as a comet, while some researchers point to anomalies that could perhaps indicate it has an artificial origin. Conspiracy theories surrounding 3I/ATLAS have flooded the internet over the past few months, and we're about to find out if any of them are right. The timing of a report indicating that at least six world governments are conducting planetary defense drills coinciding with the object's journey through the solar system has fueled speculation that these exercises may be connected to the uncertainty with 3I/ATLAS. So what exactly is passing through our cosmic neighborhood... a natural comet, an artificial object, or something else entirely?     So-called activist Jake Lang marched into Dearborn, Michigan, in November waving bacon at Qurans, lighting the same on fire, and trying to provoke Muslim residents with chants of “Christ is King” and calls on City Hall to remove all Muslims from the community, and in fact the country. Two major problems exist here: one, if this treatment of Islam were to override the First Amendment, how long do you think it will be before the same war comes for Christianity – has it not already? Two, are you so sure that the rhetoric of Lang even makes sense? A glance at the Quran will demonstrate that it actually teaches peace, not to commit suicide, forbids usury strongly, and the additional sayings of Muhammed call for followers to never kill women or children. Most of the accusations Lang makes against Islam are actually projections of accusations made against Jews. As the propaganda has failed to secure ongoing American support for Israel from all parties, it has turned to a Christian base that is willing to sell its birthright for a couple Bible verses.
