The Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation (M-NASR) is an extension of 7 park districts in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and provides recreation programming and services all for individuals with disabilities within those seven park districts.

Formed in 1972, and the second special recreation association in the state, M-NASR’s mission is to provide individuals with disabilities access to meaningful and life-enriching recreation and leisure opportunities.

Trisha Breitlow, Executive Director of M-NASR has been in the field since 1999 and at M-NASR for six years. She has her degree in Therapeutic Recreation and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE).

Dr. Gregg Gerstin is the lead chiropractor at Align Wellness Center, in Northbrook, Il. He has been providing chiropractic care for the north shore of Chicagoland for over 23 years and is Advanced Certified in Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP). He received his bachelor’s from the University of Michigan in kinesiology where he also worked with the athletic teams as a student athletic trainer.

His passion for helping spinal deformities and figuring out the blockage that prevents people from healing and developing their health has caused him to become a Scolibrace provider, a true three-dimensional solution for spinal deformities for scoliosis, hyper-kyphosis, and advanced spinal issues. However, he prefers to help find these deformities early.

He works with patients from as young as one day old to as old as 99, helping them to remove the blockages in their health and achieve optimal health and wellness

Sharon Kaczmarek has been a volunteer at Village Treasure House for the past 6 years and a manager for the past 2. Sharon found the organization when she was editing a family member’s estate locally in 2017. She Googled resale shops for furniture, dropped off the approved items and the rest is history.

Sharon’s background includes production scheduling at a manufacturing plant and inventory management for a parts distributor. Of course, a mother who dealt with antiques for over 40 years played a major role in understanding where to hunt for information. Collecting and understanding the importance of finding the next best home for an item is understandable and a major reason for not “letting go.”

Rabbi-Cantor Nancy Landsman is a graduate of NIU (Social Work/Gerontology). In her senior year of college, her own synagogue hired her to serve as their cantorial soloist for one year, which resulted in an amazing cantorial career of 33 years before beginning her rabbinic studies in 2012. Also in 2012, Congregation Ahavat Olam (a reform congregation) was formed with Nancy as their spiritual leader. Rabbi-Cantor Nancy Landsman was ordained as Rabbi in 2016. Returning to her love for seniors and helping people, she also took courses in CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) and has been volunteering weekly at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital as a chaplain for the past 10 years. Rabbi Nancy Also does weekly hospice volunteer work for JourneyCare.

Throughout the Chicagoland area, she has been called Rabbi Nancy, and known as “Your Personal Rabbi.” Rabbi Nancy is in high demand - she officiates over 100 funerals a year, countless B’nai Mitzvah private services and weddings (including interfaith and same sex ceremonies). She also provides private tutoring and counseling.

Individuals and families benefit from the comfort and compassion that Rabbi Nancy provides.
