It is three years since Anne Bonny crossed the ocean, believing that her beloved Mary Read perished in prison. But even death can’t keep these lovers apart. Mary tracks Anne to a London awash with pleasures and change – full of coffee shops, Molly Houses, and the raucous tunes of the Beggars Opera. London is a world away from the High Seas, but the lawless highways offer new adventures, and new enemies. Anne and Mary must face notorious highwayman, Dick Turpin, as well as the repressive structure of a city where the upper classes retain the upper hand.
