À propos de cet audio
I sat down with Scott Christopher from Disasterproof Roofing in Louisiana, and this episode turned into something powerful.
Scott shared how he went from fishing and HVAC into roofing, the challenges he faced starting out, and why our industry desperately needs better training, licensing, and guidance for roofers. We dug into one of his biggest differentiators — the Fortified Roof system. Scott explained what a Fortified Roof actually is, how the approval process works, and why so few roofers or homeowners know about it, even though it can literally change the way homes withstand storms in Louisiana.
But this episode wasn’t just about roofing. Earlier this year, Scott suffered a serious accident when he fell out of a window. That experience forced him to step back, rethink his business, build stronger systems, and most importantly — never take safety for granted. He opened up about how even with years of experience, the basics of safety can never be ignored if you want to protect yourself and your loved ones.
We also talked about purpose, family, and what it really means to balance work with the people you’re doing it for. Scott shared a moment from our first recording attempt when emotions took over — and how that taught him to never forget his “why.”
If you’re a roofer, homeowner, or someone who believes in building with purpose, this conversation will hit home.
