We are teaching preschoolers and kids this week that God is always powerful. Our Bible story from Acts 9:36-43 is about a woman named Dorcas who loved Jesus and was known for helping others. When she died, God showed His power by working through Peter to raise Dorcas back to life! Preschoolers and kids will learn that the same God with the power to raise the dead is the same God who makes the way for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. God’s power has no limit, and we can turn to and rely on God no matter what we face.

This week, we are teaching preschoolers and kids that God is always good. In our Bible story this week from Luke 17:11-19, Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy (a skin disease). When only 1 of the 10 men returned to thank Jesus, He told the man that his faith made him well. Preschoolers and kids will learn that Jesus healed the men not because they deserved it but because God is good. The man who returned to thank Jesus experienced the best part of His goodness—a relationship with Him. Preschoolers and kids can know that God gives us His peace, presence, and love not because of what we do or deserve but because He is good. God’s goodness reminds us that we are secure in Him.

We are saying good-bye to 2025 and hello to 2026 as we teach preschoolers and kids that God gives us hope. In Luke 2:1-40, Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to be dedicated at the temple, which was the custom at the time. In the temple, an older man named Simeon and an older woman named Anna had been waiting and hoping to see God’s Promised Savior. When they saw Jesus, they knew God kept His promise! We will teach that hope is when we look forward to something we know will happen. We can have hope that God will love us and be with us forever because of Jesus.

This week we will share about the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas from Luke 2:1-20. Preschoolers will learn that God gives us love and kids will learn that God gives us salvation. God fulfilled His promise to send a Savior to the world through His Son, Jesus. Angels announced His birth to shepherds in a field, who went into the city of Bethlehem to find Baby Jesus laying in a manger (a feeding bin for animals). Preschoolers and kids will learn that God sent Jesus to save us from sin and make the way for us to have a forever relationship with Him. Let’s work to help preschoolers and kids have an incredible time celebrating Christmas!

What a great week will have as we prepare to teach preschoolers and kids that God gives us joy! Our Bible story comes from Luke 1:26-56. While pregnant with Jesus, Mary visited her pregnant relative, Elizabeth. The baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped for joy when Mary and Jesus arrived! The women praised God together because they knew He was fulfilling His promise to send a Savior to rescue them from sin. Preschoolers and kids can know that, while different things in this world bring us temporary happiness, we can have real and forever joy through a relationship with Jesus.

This December we will be sharing with preschoolers the truth that "God Is Always with Me" and with kids “I Am Never Alone.” Both groups will celebrate Christmas stories with the Theme Best Gift Ever!

We are starting the Christmas season by teaching preschoolers and kids that God gives us strength. In Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-38, God sent an angel to Mary and another angel to Joseph to tell them that they would each play a part in bringing His Son, Jesus, into the world. Through all the thoughts and emotions that ensued, Mary and Joseph learned that God would be with them and give them strength to trust and follow Him. Preschoolers and kids can know that God sent Jesus so we can have a relationship with Him, and when we do, He gives us strength to trust and follow Him too.

We have special Hooray Day and Game Changer sessions this week and will teach preschoolers and kids that “God Leads Me to Friends.” In 1 Samuel, Jonathan (the son of King Saul) and David (the future King of Israel) became good friends. Despite Saul’s jealousy of David, Jonathan and David’s friendship persisted as they encouraged and helped each other. Kids will learn that Jonathan and David’s friendship reminds us that God gives us friends to help one another and encourage each other. Preschoolers and kids can learn that Jesus is our friend too. He came so we can have a relationship with God, and He helps us have friends and be a good friend to others

This week we are teaching preschoolers and kids that God includes us. In the book of Ruth, we see the incredible story of Ruth—an outsider—who was welcomed and included as a part of God’s family. Ruth married a man named Boaz and they had a baby. They didn’t know but eventually a very special baby would be born from their family tree, and His name would be Jesus. God sent Jesus so we could have a relationship with Him and with others who trust and follow Him. Preschoolers and kids can know when we put our trust in Jesus, we are included and belong in God’s family.
