Join Peter Tourmalin on an adventurous sea voyage back to England from Australia, as he eagerly anticipates reuniting with his fianc√©e. But when Peter tries to escape the dreary confines of London on a gloomy November morning, he finds that the time he withdraws comes in jumbled fragments, throwing him into the midst of unpredictable encounters. With his conversations often starting in the middle, he navigates complex relationships with not one, but two enchanting young ladies (never at the same time, of course!).
