We Have All The Gifts We Need

“For in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind… so that you are not lacking in any gift.” From 1 Corinthians 1:5-7

Over the last two days we reflected on verses eight and nine. Verse eight declares that we will be given the strength we need to carry out our purpose. Verse nine declares that we have been called to be partners in bringing God’s love into the world.

The verses immediately preceding are just as important. These verses declare that we individually and collectively have been given all the gifts and abilities needed to do the work we have been called to in addition to the strength.

Jeremiah thought he was too young. Moses thought he was too poor a speaker. Gideon thought he was too weak. Isaiah felt he was too unworthy. Esther feared for her very life. But God gave them all the strength and gifts they needed to fulfill their purpose.

When we feel like we are too small, we must remember that our God is very big. And that God has given us every gift we need.
