A large discussion on the plight of South Carolina men's basketball through the years, baseball expectations that are not looking so hot and then some chummy football talk at the end with all the humor and interaction you have come to expect mashed in between on a Meat Loaf Monday.

It's another mashed Smorgasboard episode as both hosts of the Late Night Gamecock Show join JC Shurburtt and the Mad Dog Phil Mullinax to break down a number of topics. At some point in the second, hour the topic of a woman from Brazil who marries and has children with rag dolls comes up. Then a state of the union men's basketball conversation breaks out. All in all, it's a lot of fun for a Friday.

The Show goes nostalgic as we discuss some of our favorite stadiums, some of which no longer exist, favorite in-state high school football venues, the old Carolina Coliseum vs. the Colonial Life Arena, the era when Carolina left the Atlantic Coast Conference and why, some old school high school stuff and a bit of recruiting. Then at the end, the news breaks that South Carolina pitcher Jake McCoy, a potential Friday night starter, will miss the entire 2026 season. Tough blow for a program that needs to win this year.

Terrible Tuesday is all over the map. Incoming defensive end Julian Walker is now a five-star prospect according to Rivals and that means Shane Beamer will have six players on his 2026 South Carolina roster that were rated five stars coming out of high school with five of those signing directly with the Gamecocks. JC Shurburtt isn't happy with the continued narrative about the SEC and thinks some people are stupid... also, he isn't happy about 9 p.m. tip offs in SEC basketball between two teams from the eastern time zone. ... Mad Dog and JC both are happy about today's trip into nostalgia.

One thing we can say about basketball is that even with people believing that football now needs to have an older roster to win that it's been that way in that sport since before the transfer portal. The Show begins with pointing out the stupidity of a 12-team college football playoff, there is a VHS Dates for Alex to evaluate, a preview of South Carolina-Texas A&M basketball that is now set for 1 p.m. Saturday, some weather talk and then a dive into some personnel, including a quartet of defensive lineman that redshirted last season and then some.

There are three South Carolina football players amongst the top 25 in the country for 2026 according to one "way too early" list. JC and Mad Dog discuss what was said about each of the players. ... Ross from Friends was a bad human being and there is proof... then a running backs discussion breaks out along with the notion of an NIL contract buyout.

The ITG Chat Box is live on Wide Open Wednesday and it takes JC and Mad Dog and the Gamecock fans through a wild ride about the state of college football and the money and everything else. A Texas Tech booster has said Alabama and Auburn have no money and Indiana is here to stay. Do we believe that? Also, what is the value of what everyone is paying for? Also, a basketball win!
