Before time began, before the foundations of the world were laid, there was rebellion in heaven. The mighty cherub Lucifer, the most radiant of all the angels, allowed pride to corrupt his heart. He sought not only to reflect God's glory but to claim it for himself. "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High," he declared in his arrogance (Isaiah 14:14). Deceived by Lucifer’s prideful ambition, a third of the heavenly host joined his rebellion against God.
It was then that God prepared a place for these fallen ones—a place of judgment, a place of torment, a place of eternal separation from the presence of God. Hell was never created for man, but for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). Yet, in the garden of Eden, the serpent slithered in. The deceiver who had led the rebellion in heaven now sought to lead a rebellion on earth. He whispered his lies into the ears of Eve, convincing her that God's commands were burdensome, that sin would bring freedom rather than death. Adam, too, followed in disobedience...
