À propos de cet audio

Welcome to "It Might Get Weird," the podcast where we dive into the journeys of veterinary professionals.

Your hosts are Dr. Gary Marshall and Sara Rae.
Gary has been a veterinarian for more than 35 years. Sara has been a veterinarian for zero years. That's about to change and that's why we're here.

Our main focus will be to follow Sara on adventures as a Washington State University class of 2028 veterinary student. We’ll be along for the ride as she encounters challenges, and celebrates triumphs during her 4 year commitment to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Along the way, we’ll also interview super interesting individuals who have valuable stories to share about their personal and professional journeys.

If you haven't listened to S2 : E3 (Part 1) with Dr. Whitney Terrell yet, please bookmark this episode and go listen to that one first. The 2 episodes are pretty self-contained, but this is a continuation of the conversation we had and probably best to listen to the entire discussion from beginning to end.

We cover Alabama Football, the experience of studying overseas in Ireland, pet loss, parenting styles and so much more. And yet it seems like we just scratched the surface. We'll probably need to have her on again.

  • S2 : E3 - Special Guest Dr. Whitney Terrell Talks about Enneagrams and going to Vet School in Dublin, Ireland (Part 1).

Sara and I are together on this one to talk with the wonderful Dr. Whitney Terell ( @dr.terrellpetvet ). We talked so long, that we didn't even get close to wrapping this up in 1 episode. During this episode we mainly cover her passion for the Enneagram, and her experience applying to, getting in to, and attending Vet School in Dublin, Ireland. University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine is AVMA Accredited but it does not have a SAVMA chapter, so it's a bit off of our radar. Take a listen. You just might learn something?

  • S2 : E2 - That "What I did last summer" episode; Gary edition

Gary shares most of his summer activities. Not as exciting as Sara's. It gives a good perspective on his AVMA summer duties. Gary and Sara also talk about some unique aspects of the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine second year curriculum.

We apologize for a few technical difficulties. The audio is fine, but not the level we desire. We strive to improve this.

We'd also like to once again thank Ready Vet Go mentoring platform for sponsoring this recording. Founder Dr. Dani Rabwin is just absolutely the best. She is always looking for ways to encourage and support the newest generation of veterinarians and we are honored that she thinks this podcast is worthy of Ready Vet Go Support.
