Welcome to our podcast—A podcast about two Latinas, one faith, endless stories! This is a podcast about 2 friends, Pastor Alexa Pineda and Pastor Jessica Fernandez, PhD, two Latinas from New York who are all about helping Christian women like YOU step boldly into your God-given purpose.

After 30 years of friendship (yes, THIRTY!), we’re keeping it real and talking about everything—what friends, wives, believers, and pastors struggle with, plus all the beautiful, messy, and faith-filled moments along the way.

Think of us as the tías you never had but always needed—the ones who’ll cheer you on, tell you the truth (even when it stings), and pray over you like your abuela would. Here, we serve up real talk with a side of spiritual fire—Bible truths, practical advice, and a whole lot of corazón.

So, grab your cafecito, hit that subscribe button, and let’s grow, glow, and give God the glory together. Dios tiene grandes planes para ti—let’s get to it!

  • Episode 51: Mary vs. Martha
    Jan 8 2026

Episode 51 kicks off with a fun salted caramel Moon Pie taste test before quickly turning into a lively and heartfelt Mary vs. Martha debate. Anchored in Luke 10:38–42, Jessica and Alexa examine how these two sisters reflect different personalities, callings, and spiritual rhythms that many of us see in ourselves today.

Jessica identifies strongly with Mary—someone who prioritizes being with Jesus, hearing His Word, and pushing past distractions to stay close to Him. Alexa advocates for Martha, pointing out that she intentionally made room for Jesus in her home and lived out her calling through hospitality and service. Martha’s life reminds us that serving is not second-class spirituality—it’s worship.

The conversation digs deeper into how gifting can feel effortless to others but exhausting to the one carrying it, and how hospitality, service, and leadership can quietly turn into anxiety when limits aren’t honored. Martha wasn’t upset that Mary was sitting—she was overwhelmed by carrying too much alone. When our eyes shift from Jesus to what others aren’t doing, bitterness and comparison can creep in.

Jessica and Alexa also challenge the “consumer mindset” in the Church, emphasizing that serving one another is biblical, worshipful, and necessary. They explore how Jesus addressed Martha’s anxiety—not her service—and why there are moments when even the most capable servant needs to stop and simply sit at His feet.

This episode reminds us that Mary and Martha were both loved, both called, and both necessary. The Body of Christ thrives when we honor different giftings, help one another carry the load, and keep our focus on Jesus above all else.

So… whose team are you on—Mary or Martha?

  • EPISODE 50: No Puppets Allowed: Breaking Free from People-Pleasing
    Jan 1 2026

In Episode 50, Jessica and Alexa have an honest, challenging conversation about identity, boundaries, and breaking free from the fear of people’s opinions. From their completely different personal styles to how they approach planning and purpose, the Locas remind us that every God-given dream requires intention, structure, and action.

This episode tackles the danger of people-pleasing and control, and how easily we give weight to voices that have no stake in our lives. When we live fearing man, we hand over authority that belongs only to the Holy Spirit. God never called us to fit in—He called us to stand out.

Jessica and Alexa also dive into relationships, marriage, and dating, stressing the importance of having the hard conversations early—faith, finances, family, and calling. Love alone isn’t enough. The person you choose can either help fulfill your calling or hinder it, which is why healthy boundaries are essential to protect what God has entrusted to you.

They reference the book Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud, highlighting key truths like: people without boundaries will test yours, and discernment is required to know when to create space and when to pursue connection. Boundaries aren’t about control—they’re about stewardship. Jess shares her testimony about setting boundaries with family in Boundaries that Bless.

At the heart of it all is identity. When you don’t know who you are in Christ, others will define you for you. But when you know Him, you begin to walk confidently in who He’s called you to be.

God doesn’t want you basic. He wants you bold, free, and fully surrendered.

  • EPISODE 49: CHRISTMAS EPISODE & HAPPY ONE YEAR
    Dec 25 2025

Merry Christmas and happy 1st anniversary to Las Locas Chronicles. In this special holiday episode, we pause to celebrate one full year of conversations, growth, laughter, lessons, and God’s faithfulness. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has walked with us on this journey, and we give a huge thank you to our branding team at Eighty Five Studio for helping bring this vision to life.

We highlight some meaningful gifts from this year, but more than anything, we reflect on the gift of friendship. Jessica shares how the consistency of our friendship and daily check-ins has been one of the greatest blessings. Alexa speaks directly to traveling ministers, reminding us that our calling isn’t limited to the pulpit—it’s about fellowship, community, and being fully present with the people who open their doors and hearts to us. Don’t just be a greenroom minister; make yourself available.

We also look back on some of our favorite episodes from this year, including Jessica’s favorite, “While You Wait, Buy the Suitcase,” and reflect on how God uses small steps and hidden seasons to prepare us for bigger ones. From short trips to Amarillo to learning how to fly on her own, we talk about how God processes us before promoting us.

Anchored in Psalm 37:23–24 and Proverbs 16:9, this episode is a reminder that God is ordering our steps, preparing the way, and going before us. Our role is to obey, be faithful in the little things, take our time, and trust what He’s building will last.

Thank you for an incredible year. Merry Christmas, and we’ll see you in 2026.
