Dr. GiTonya L. Parker, commonly known as Dr. Gi, is a seasoned grants management expert, educator, and nonprofit capacity-building strategist with nearly 30 years of experience working with federal, state, and local government funding. She currently serves as a municipal Grants Coordinator, managing millions in annual grant funding, and leads Granted, a consulting brand focused on assisting small businesses, nonprofit groups, and small-to-midsize HBCUs in enhancing their grant readiness, funding strategies, and compliance systems. Dr. Gi combines technical expertise with heartfelt leadership. Her approach is based on servant and transformational leadership, focusing on identifying organizational gaps, developing sustainable funding solutions, and empowering mission-driven teams to succeed beyond just a single award. She has supported organizations through every stage of the grant lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and creating proposals to managing, monitoring, and closing grants. She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, with research focused on mentors' perceptions of self-connectedness, reflecting her long-standing dedication to mentoring, youth development, and community impact. Alongside her consulting work, Dr. Gi is an adjunct professor, public speaker, and trusted technical assistance provider, often leading workshops on grant management, financial sustainability, and organizational capacity building. Dr. Gi is a member of the National Grants Management Association, a certified technical writer, a DOJ-trained grants professional, and a peer reviewer for state and federal agencies. Through her business, Granted, she continues to promote equity, preparedness, and sustainability—helping organizations transition from seeking funding to managing impact. Dr. Gi is a proud Mom of two young men, Jabari and Jaedon, and serves the community as a member of Faith Community Baptist Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
"Prepared organizations don't just win grants - they manage them well, grow with intention, and lead with impact."
