À propos de cet audio

The Like Me Podcast explores what life can look like after the experience and aftermath of sexual trauma.

It speaks first to women rebuilding/building identity, confidence, wellbeing, and purpose, and it also welcomes men, practitioners, activists, campaigners, and policy shapers who want deeper insight into healing, recovery, and the systemic realities of sexual violence.

This podcast is about moving forward out of survival mode... It’s about living with intention, unlearning what harms, and learning what frees.

It challenges the narratives we inherit, questions the stories we hold, and invites listeners to think for themselves rather than accept assumptions about who they are.

Each episode is grounded in lived experience, curiosity, and truth. It offers fresh perspective, honest reflection, and insight that supports personal development, emotional wellbeing, and deeper understanding.

Listeners gain language for healing, clarity for growth, and tools that strengthen relationships, workplaces, communities, and support systems.

For anyone committed to healing, supporting others, or improving how society responds to sexual violence, this podcast is a reminder that none of us walk this alone and that there is more to life than surviving, because that is not the final destination!

  • Why Like Me?
    Dec 4 2025

In this first episode, I’m going back to the quiet moment that first changed how I understood myself.
A moment of recognition. When Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings found me at thirteen and stirred something I didn’t yet have language for.

For years, I lived with truths I couldn’t name.
My voice learned how to hide. I looked fine, sounded fine while carrying a silence I didn’t know how to break.

In this episode, I share how that silence shaped me, how the world’s loud facts about gender-based violence echo through the lives behind them, and why I created Like Me Officially. A space where we move from surviving into thriving, without trauma bonding, without fixing, without pretending.

I share from lived experience and curiosity, and as a seeker of truth, I create distance from the lies that have kept me stuck.

I'm not here to fix. Just sharing what I’ve lived, what I’ve learned, and what I’m still becoming.

If something in this episode makes you think, pause, or feel differently… that’s the work. It means this episode was worth doing.

    Thank you for listening.
