  • BONUS EPISODE - Giving You 'More': A Pulp Special
    Jul 11 2025

For one week and one week only, we take a break from our usual Suede-related programming* to chat about a band you may have heard of by the name of Pulp! Bonus episodes are a thing that I want to keep to an absolute minimum as we all know who we're here for** , but given the deserved plaudits foisted upon them for 'More' and their current tour, I had to make some time to give them some shine! Joined today by a "Pulp Phd" holder, we chat about first getting in to Pulp, their live work, The 1996 Brit Awards (Of Course), plus plenty of other stuff! After that, we then go track by track through their latest album 'More'!

    Show Notes:

    • *Well, apart from the first ten minutes where I mention their Mojo front cover and CD!
    • ** This doesn't mean that I'll be doing a bonus episode on James any time soon. Although it probably should.....

    • We might not have pen pals, but we'll always have....

    Audio Credits:

    • Sony Walkmann(sic) Commercial (1981) . I'm very much here for the pronunciation of it as "Walk MAN". Although no doubt The Football Cliches Podcast would go for "walkman"

    Jul 4 2025

Litter On The Breeze - the podcast about the music, the stories and the fans of the band Suede - returns with the first of two episodes released today!

In this episode we get our fingers dirty by leafing through an edition of Melody Maker from January 1993, where Brett (and of course it is only Brett) battles for space with four other musicians! We discuss how and where Suede stood alongside other bands at the time, play along with the A-Z of Brett Anderson contained within the article, run through all five tracks on the 'Five Alive' cassette, plus find time to mention Guns n' Roses, Nirvana and...er...Ween.

    Show Notes:

    • Maybe we'll do Take Two as a bonus episode one day. Or Take Three!
    • Here's the edition we look at. Complete with very chipper and scampish Andy Bell!

  • Definitely not The London Suede - with Ned Raggett
    Jun 6 2025

Litter On The Breeze - the podcast about the music, the stories and the fans of Suede - returns with an episode in which we make another journey Across The Pond, on this occasion to spend time with the writer, thinker and all-round great guy Ned Raggett. We hear about how he became a Suede fan in the States, the things he had to do to be able to remain a Suede fan in the States, some of his dealings with the band, and helps us pose a question that only you can answer!

(The podcast begins with me giving my views on Suede being on the bill at Radio 2 In The Park, should that mean anything to you!)

    Show Notes:

Here's the 2013 Quietus article where a lot of the stories in this episode come from.

Some more on the KROQ Weenie Roast. Although not how it got its name - thankfully.

  • The art of making 'Silhouettes' and covering Suede
    May 30 2025

Litter On The Breeze - the podcast about the music, the stories and the fans of Suede - returns with an episode in which the music of Suede provides the template for fans to tell their own stories! Today we are joined by Mylle Fournier and James Youngjohns, creators of the magnificent 2021 release 'Silhouettes', in which six Suede songs are re-imagined to wonderful effect. We hear about how the idea to make the record came about, the song selection process, and the ease (or otherwise!) of putting the whole thing together remotely. Plus plenty more Suede stories!

We recommend listening to the record before diving into this podcast, and it can be found in full, for streaming or free download, right here

    Show Notes:

Here's 'Fell In Love' by our friend Mark Fernyhough, with Mylle on harp!
