    On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday, as the two broke down the Panthers 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Blues, losing in the final seconds of the third period. Although the Panthers got the first goal of the game, the Blues controlled play from there as they did not have a lead after that. Attention to detail was poor for the Panthers wether it was errant passes, and untimely support that resulted in breakaway opportunities. St. Louis already had a lead going into the second and then a goal that squeaked by Tarasov had the Panthers chasing even more, and that's when the parade to the penalty box for both teams really started. Florida still could not find a way to control play. It was only a stretch of two minutes where Matthew Tkachuk took matters into his own hands back in his home town, as he had a three point night and two straight goals to tie it at four. Florida did not get a shot in the third until eight minutes in the game, and their best chance came when they had a four minute power play where they got nothing on net and were not connecting on passes that resulted in a lot of stops and starts. Eventually the poor play from the Panthers came to bite them where both Matthew Tkachuk and Niko Mikkola went to the box after penalties drawn by Joel Hofer, where Jimmy Snuggerud eventually scored on a one-timer past Daniil Tarasov to give the Blues two points and the Cats could not force overtime. Panthers now eight points behind the final wild card spot, is it the final nail in the coffin for the season?     On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by David Dwork(@DavidDwork) of The Hockey News and The Hockey Show to discuss the latest as the NHL is one week away from their Olympic roster freeze. Trades are starting to come to fruition and one big fish has been made available, and it's a player that the Panthers have attempted to sign in the past, although different management at the time. Rangers F Artemi Panarin is on the trade block as the Rangers are looking to retool their roster, the Panthers have done their due diligence in making calls to see what it would take to make a trade. With the limited cap space and draft picks, how possible would it be for the Panthers to pull it off? Florida have gotten guys on the ice in a practice setting as of late, and this could be another sign of the lineup fully back intact, but some roster surgery is required who would be the odd men out to bring guys back?     On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers 4-3 loss to the Utah Mammoth. The Panthers were continuing to play to their game from their recent road trip, but mistakes cost got them chasing the game. It's another game where the fourth line got on the scoresheet, and did so twice after Paul Maurice swapped winger placing Sandis Vilmanis on the fourth line and it immediately paid off. The mammoth then retook the lead after a turnover in their offensive zone while the Panthers defensive paid went for a line change, putting them in a bad spot and not getting set. The fourth line got another score to tie it at two, the Panthers continued to creates chances with multiple layers of their aggressive forecheck, but the chances never resulted in a lead. Panthers went on the PK after Anton Lundell went to the box for retaliating after getting his on the half wall with his head down, but did not come out for the third period. Midway through, it would be Utah to take the lead off of a redirection shot, and not only taking the lead, but taking control after that. Florida had a chance to either even things out after going on the penalty kill or on the power play, but not one, but two embellishment calls were were questionable as Matthew Tkachuk and Evan Rodrigues were victims of it, denying the Panthers from getting a four-on-four on one occassion and going 6-on-4 on the other when they were already down. No question that the officiating played a factor in crunch time. Although Carter Verhaeghe scored to cut the deficit to one after Utah scored on the empty net, it was too little too late as Florida's three-game winning streak came to an end, and they did not get help from the teams ahead of them neither.     On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the two wins for the Panthers in Minnesota and Chicago, getting four points and completing a perfect road trip. Minnesota has been a great place to play as of late, where they couldn't say that before 2020. Brad Marchand made his return to the lineup and was impactful with a two-goal performance, in a penalty filled game. Florida ended up getting the OT goal to win by a final of 4-3. The Cats then made the short trip to Chicago where they had not won since 2022, and it was a tight game where neither team scored in the first 35 minutes, but the Panthers were buzzing in the game, where they had the ice mostly tiled in their favor. It was the fourth line who broke the ice after a TV timeout, and an unlikely goal scorer in Tobias Bjornfot to give the Panthers the first lead of the game. Although Chicago tied it at one, the Panthers did not panic as they exploded for four goals in the third period. Mackie Samoskevich went down to the fourth line, and it was an opportunity to take advantage of the matchups as he had not scored a goal in 18 games, and ended up with the game-winner after AJ Greer helped open a lane for him on the shoot-in. Florida continued to press on as they blew the Hawks out of the building and Bjornfot added a second one in the final minute for his first two goals in the NHL in five years. Don't look now, but the Florida Panthers are hot again, creeping up to the final wild card spot.
