One womans call for help, leads to the identification of a serial killer on Long Island. Shannan Gilbert called saying a man was going to kill her. But police didn't go out and investigate immediately, simply following up later then claiming it wasn't a missing person when they couldn't find her. Her mother knew better, she pushed until people finally went out to look for Shannan. Finding instead four others. The push for Shannan led to a second search and six more bodies, the third to Shannan herself. In the quest for Shannan a serial killer was unearthed and we are still waiting for justice. Trial is expected for the potential serial killer, Rex Heuerman after labor day 2026. Maybe then answers will be had.
