À propos de cet audio

We’ve all heard the phrase “reality is stranger than fiction” but does the same thing apply when we look at the past? The Making Myth podcast hopes to untangle fact from history, myth, legend and speak to how we assign meaning to our lives.

Join us on the journey as we transcend through the past and emerge with new understandings.

    Nov 14 2025

Love what you hear? Send us fan mail!

Dikh He Na Bister means "Look and don't forget" in Romani.

Born into a Romani family in Austria, Ceija Stojka was one of the 1.17 million Roma living in Europe circa 1939. At only 10 years old she, her mother, and siblings were deported to Auschwitz Birkenau. A survivor of not only Auschwitz, but Ravensbrück and Bergen-Belsen, Ceija was liberated from the camps on April 15, 1945. At 55, Ceija began to process her pain into art, writing, and activism.

Come along with us as we cover the first Romani woman in Austria to speak out about the Porajmos, the under-told story of the Romani Genocide, through history and astrology.

Please practice self care when listening to this episode.

    IT'S ALIVE!!!

Born to a radical philosopher and early feminist, Mary Shelley has been immortalized through her 1818 work Frankenstein. Not only did she invent the genre of science fiction, but she also explored themes of human rights, being unsheltered in the world, and social isolation. Truly embodying 'peak goth', she kept her late husband Percy Shelley's calcified heart in a drawer until her death in 1851.

Come along with us as we discover Mary's intellectual pursuits and personal exploration in a world defined by radical thinking through history and astrology.
