Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Maryland Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th. Folks, Maryland is playing favorites today. Western Maryland woke up feeling like early spring. The rest of us? Still stuck in winter's grip. Here's the deal. Baltimore and Central Maryland are sitting at 36 degrees this morning. Light winds, gray skies, typical February stuff. Now drive west on I-68. Watch that thermometer climb. By the time you hit Garrett County, you're at 50 degrees. That's 14 degrees above normal for mid-February. The kind of warmth that tricks your tulips into thinking it's March. Sunrise cracked at 6:32 this morning, and we've gained nearly three extra minutes of daylight. You'll want to soak that up. Tonight, things even out. Lows dip into the upper 20s statewide. Light northwest winds. Clear skies under a waxing crescent moon. Quiet and calm. Tomorrow the whole state gets on the same page. Highs climb to the mid 40s everywhere. Sunshine. Decent air quality. Perfect for a hike or just standing on your porch pretending spring is here. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. We're looking at a slow, steady warmup. Highs creep into the 50s by midweek. Dry conditions hold strong. No storms lurking. No drama. Just February doing its best impression of early March. Enjoy it while it lasts. One more thing. If this forecast helped you plan your weekend, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth is how we grow, and I appreciate every single one of you. Bundle up if you're east of the mountains today. If you're out in Western Maryland, leave the heavy coat in the car. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
