Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Mississippi Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th. Folks, here's the deal. Mississippi is running two completely different seasons today. The Gulf Coast woke up feeling like early spring. Northern Mississippi? Still clinging to winter like it owes it money. Up north, you're stepping out to 48 degrees with a light northeast breeze. Skies stay mostly clear, but don't get your hopes up. Highs barely budge. Tonight drops into the upper 30s. Grab that jacket before you head out. Now drive south into central Mississippi. Things warm up nicely to 59 degrees. A light breeze keeps it comfortable. There's a slight chance of a stray shower, but nothing to cancel plans over. Overnight lows settle into the mid 40s. Here's the thing. The Gulf Coast is absolutely stealing the show. Highs near 66 degrees with southwest winds around 5 miles an hour. Just enough humidity to remind you the Gulf is right there. No rain to ruin your Saturday. Even tonight stays pleasant in the upper 50s. Perfect weather for a walk along the beach if you ask me. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning. Sunset at 5:19. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every day now. That's sunshine you can feel building. Air quality is moderate, so if you're sensitive, you'll want to take it easy outside. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Sunday cools off a touch, but the sunshine sticks around. By midweek, a weak front slides through with scattered showers. Nothing severe. Just a quick rinse. Temperatures hover near normal with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Pretty manageable stuff. Alright. If you're enjoying these morning updates, share us with a neighbor. It really does help more folks find us. Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
