Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Missouri Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 16th. Folks, Missouri is handing out different weather depending on your zip code today. Southwest Missouri grabbed the winning ticket. You're waking up to 48 degrees down there. That's practically spring whispering in your ear. North winds running 6 to 10 miles an hour keep things comfortable, and tomorrow flirts with 50 again. Now head northwest and the thermometer drops. You're sitting at 40 degrees with a northwest breeze at 8 miles an hour. Here's the thing. That wind has teeth this morning. Tonight dips further, but tomorrow starts a slow crawl back toward the mid 40s. Over in eastern Missouri, you've got the middle ground. 44 degrees with gentle west winds at 7 miles an hour. Clear skies tonight. Tomorrow pushes the upper 40s. Quiet and seasonable. The kind of day that just lets you breathe. Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today, sitting around 60 on the index. Sensitive groups, you'll want to take it easy outside. And here's a bright spot. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise at 6:33, sunset at 5:18. Winter is losing its grip. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Dry and steady wins the race. No rain. No snow. Just a gentle warm up that nudges most of the state into the 50s by Sunday. Perfect weekend for getting outside. Early next week stays mild with more of the same. If you've got outdoor plans, the weather is basically rolling out the red carpet. So. If this forecast helped you plan your Friday, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going. Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
