  • The Elephants in the Room
    Feb 27 2026
For the final episode of the season, host Jessie Graham explores the “elephants in the room” at this year’s Munich Security Conference—mainly, whether or not the United States is still adhering to the rules-based order. This refers to an established set of norms between Western allies. With so much in flux, the conference serves a critical venue for leaders to convene and work out their differences with frank and candid dialogue. Munich Moments is a co-production of the Munich Security Conference and Foreign Policy. Our show is hosted and produced by Jessie Graham and edited by Rob Sachs. Our production team includes Andreas Block, Judith Sordon, Marie Zeisler, Nour Saad, and Annalena Enold. Additional production help from Charlie Garcia in Berlin, Jessica Robinson in Oslo, Leo Simon in Munich, and Josse Sennesael in Brussels. For more on the Munich Security Conference, click here. • Elbridge Colby Live From Munich
    Feb 20 2026
It's been a week since this year's Munich Security Conference began. Foreign Policy editor in chief Ravi Agrawal was there covering it all, and today we're going to hear his interview with Elbridge Colby, the U.S. undersecretary of defense for policy—essentially the top policymaker in the U.S. Defense Department. The two spoke on the conference's main stage. Many say it's hard to get a clear take on U.S. President Donald Trump's current foreign policy, but Colby is at the center of it.  Colby was one of the main authors of the Trump administration's National Security Strategy, which he called “a clear and powerful articulation of his common-sense, 'America First,' 'peace through strength' agenda.” And, as you’ll hear, Colby believes that the United States should be turning its attention toward China, and that means moving a lot of its attention away from Europe.
