It’s publication day for Miss Beeton’s Murder Agency, Josie’s cosy crime, so we’re talking about new projects, including Alice’s dingy charm bracelet collection. We’re inspired by our guest this week, Jo Godden from Ruby Moon who tells us that she never gives up and is launching her own astonishing new project, the world's first fully recyclable swimsuit. Jo trained in fashion and had an international career working in lingerie and swimwear, but having seen some horrific conditions for women working in factories, she branched out on her own creating an environmentally sustainable ethical business. It was during Covid that she decided to tackle a huge problem in order to close the gap in her circular business model, by finding a way to recycle lycra. After working with scientists and researchers, she’s invented a technical process that’s set to be a game-changer for the fashion industry.

She is not a things person, but Jo brought along a beaded evening purse from her stylish grandmother, Ruby, who taught Jo how to sew and after whom the business is named. Her other grandmother Nancy, bequeathed a stunning family heirloom - a silver clip purse from 1817 for dance cards. She also has some fabulous memorabilia from her Grandparent’s trip on the Cunard Line to New York.
